Re: Carplay

IMHO, the car companies don't want to get into the middle of this war. The companies that provide the bits and the hardware (e.g Harman) are going to have to support both. Probably not...

Re: 11k miles and blown Transmission

I cannot understand the thought process that resulted in two o-rings.

I don't think it was a 'tech' ... maybe a semi-trained monkey

Re: Impossible to set the time

I think you're stuck.

The DVD drive crapped out in the REC in my '07, so now my clock is wrong half of the year (but at least the GPS seems to still set the correct minute..)

Re: Auto dimming mirrors don't...

IIRC the inside mirror controls the dimming of the outside mirrors. Does the inside mirror dim?

testing the inside mirror, from the FSM (your dealer should have done this):

Turn the ignition...

Re: 2014 Jeep Cherokee Ranked Most Hackable

pretty simplistic methodology... the authors are trolling for headlines.

It is fine to do research on automotive security. But saying a car is hackable just because the bluetooth and the brakes...

Re: Owners: Would you buy your Grand Cherokee again?

Absolutely. Love it.

I've had a few minor issues, and getting the my dealer's service dept to actually do something useful is always an adventure..

But yes, I'd buy another one.

Re: WK2 Rack Systems: Manufacturers List

They are the Mopar bars (82212072AC) from justforjeeps. There is a rubber strip down the middle (which you have to install).

I'll probably be taking them off very soon, I'll take more pix.

Re: O2 sensor problems. Need a master mechanic!!

AFAIK the O2 heater ground doesn't go to the PCM or the Junction Block. It goes thru C104 (an inline connector) to ground.

WK and Timbrens and towing

My adult daughter is looking at using the '07 5.7L WK to haul the pony around.

She is thinking of a timbrens setup, which I know squat about.

Re: Stupid Towing Question of the Day (Week, Month, Year)
