You can also put in CD mode with no disc in the drive, or put it in HDD mode and press pause. Then press the NAV button. It will remain silent until you press the radio button again.

I knew the liftgate wouldn't open while driving down the hwy but learned thar the gas door will if you accidentally hit the button. All set for in-flight fueling. :screwy:

Are you referring to the confirmation prompts? If so, they can be turned off. From the manual:

I use Meguiar's polish and wax about three times /year. It does a great job and is easy to apply and buff out. If you get it on the black plastic trim it can be a PITA to remove.
