Re: Safety Recall with 2 year backlog???? Really Chrysler!

Quick Google search shows recall news release was 4/2/14. Doesn't seem they are ramping up much. Should have zero supply problems by now, it is 6 months later 10/4. Even if they are ramping up...

Re: Safety Recall with 2 year backlog???? Really Chrysler!

They won't answer the question, just it is safe to drive. Much like talking to a lawyer. They did something when they stated they would call when the part arrives (paperwork doesn't show anything)....

Re: Safety Recall with 2 year backlog???? Really Chrysler!

Seems to be the norm around here. Took a week to get a shock, something you would think would be in-stock at the dealer. Ironically, they got a defective trim piece (something you would expect to...

Re: Safety Recall with 2 year backlog???? Really Chrysler!

Ha. Well at least you are dead so you don't have to fight with your insurance to try and prove you didn't rear end the car in front of you and then try to prove a frozen booster was at fault (which...

Safety Recall with 2 year backlog???? Really Chrysler!

So my dealer placed me on the list for the brake booster recall when I was serviced in May. Said they would call when the parts arrived. Stated the issue is with rust/water getting into the system...

Re: Good Chrysler / Dealer Mistake / Not sure how to feel?

I have only owned GM, BMW and now Jeep. I tend to keep cars 7-8 years and sell with 50-80K miles on them. So far the BMW experience has been the best (but definitely most expensive). While I...

Re: Good Chrysler / Dealer Mistake / Not sure how to feel?

This was their explanation as the service agent on the phone tried to explain the logic. The $100 was as if I had purchased an extended warranty.

I have a sales slip from the dealer and paid...

Re: Good Chrysler / Dealer Mistake / Not sure how to feel?

Didn't mean to cause a large argument.

Dealer nor Chrysler ever stated shock was defective (that would be my terms). I obviously don't remember all the conversations, but that is probably some...

Re: Heat Shield Rattling

I like the rivet or stiffener idea. Even just adding something like caulk (I know it has to be able to handle exhaust temperature to prevent a fire) would end the tuning fork effect.

.. Louder...

Left side of vehicle, directly back from the front suspension about 2' in from the edge. From the front door hinge, about 1' further back to the rear of the vehicle.

Actually I was originally impressed that Chrysler offered the replacement and felt the $100 was more than reasonable. I never even asked!

Re: daily driver mpg on 3.6 ?

I have a 2011 with the V6 and use Mileage App on my phone:

12.43
11.48
12.26
17.76
16.21
14.20

Commute is 3 miles each way to work (that 17.76 was due to a drive ~180). Love the remote...

Look at the item above (spare tire lock). At least in the 2011 the spare tire is only access from inside the car, thus not needed.

Re: EVIC MPG estimate - How accurate is it?

That averages out if you log the mileage every fill up (or use an app). I do and it has only 1 time been where I got 1-2 mpg higher than the EVIC (thus I had a partial fill that fill up and would...

Re: Your Opinion Please - Trade in 2011 Overland

This is flawed math.

A 5 year old vehicle with 60K miles has a trade in value of ~14K
So 40K - 14K = 26,000/60 = $434/month.

So not the greatest deal if you are typically a long term owner...

Re: Should I buy this Jeep? 2011 29K Laredo X

Jeep has an app for Android with the Grand Cherokee user manual. Very nice as it is easier to read by section versus paging through a pdf. Search Jeep on the market place.
