Re: The Towing thread

I think you have a typo. Not sure what it is your Jeep won't do.

After you previous post, the missus and I checked out the HDC and the brake lights do indeed come on. This lines up with yoda42's...

Re: Jeep service costs

You're a character Ally! Well of course for the sake of the dealers one would have to dumb down "10 potential customers" to something like "plenty plenty customer".

Yep, let your feet do the talking. Life is too short to argue with morons. It make one wonder if these dealers know marketing adage:
"Make one customer unhappy - loose 10 potential customers. ...

Re: Off Road 18"s

If you can get a swing-away for the Jeep, the second spare would be better on the back, no wind resistance, no wind noise, lower centre of gravity.

I have a camper-trailer with Jeep wheels and a...

Re: Off Road 18"s

Use spacers only if you must. They increase sprung weight, affect steering geometry and increase load on the bearings.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Because you are on this thread I'm guessing you live in Oz and have an "export" Jeep. This probably explains why the holes are in a different location.

Whoops! Regarding my post above, it's a 5-speeder not a 6-speeder. :slapfight:

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

It sounds like you have the 8-speeder (184kW) fitted with the Bluespark for the earlier 6-speeder (177kW). Try contacting Bluespark. They may be prepared to remap it for you.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

I was sure they wouldn't be rate but glad to see there are. However Snake makes a very valid point. OK, two hooks, that makes 6,000kg but still, if something was to give, I'd rather be hit in the...

Re: Off Road 18"s

Some are successfully using the BF Goodrich T/A KO LT265/65R18 with only minor scuffing of the fender liner. However, it has a diameter of 801mm whereas the Maxxis has a diameter of 815mm so it...
