Well my wife drove it home (10 hours) and didn't experience any difficulty so MAYBE it is fixed.. I'm away on the West coast until Monday or Tuesday. I'll try a few more things when I get home...

The shop in KY had it from Saturday til Tuesday.. Really found nothing to speak of. They checked with Chrysler who reported problems with aftermarket thermostats so I went along with the change for...

That is a great point and a cheap thing to try. I'll be calling the shop in KY tomorrow and make the suggestion to them and make sure they at least consider it..

I just did a full flush of my transmission and would like to do the same with the power steering pump/fan assembly. Can anyone tell me which line to take off as the supply to the pump so I can flush...

I did a complete trans flush and also dropped the pan to change both filters. Switched to Amsoil Synthetic ATF and used Wix filter kit with gasket.

I crawled under the car... and you are correct it is the NV247 transfer case. What do you think about this Amsoil as it comes up with the search by automobile function for that Transfer case?

Yes temp stays below the 210 mark (guess about 200). 500 miles home plus another week or so around town. Love my jeep again and my duramax too!

I did bleed it at the time. I will check it again tomorrow. I'm not sure that will still explain it not happening when city driving?

It developed a small leak. I replaced the thermostat because I thought most people did it at the same time. The old one looked perfect though. At the time temperature was a non issue.
