Re: AERO Mode

Yes, you can shift it into sport mode by pulling back on the shifter. That will put it into aero mode and it will stay there.

Re: Ice Pelllets/Sleet !! No problem!

Yes, Dave, they did close the campus today. That doesn't happen often at all. The news report I saw said it was only the 4th time in the last 20 years.

Re: Ice Pelllets/Sleet !! No problem!

I'm in PA too, Dave. Near State College. Lots of snowcone ice and a deep crust of freezing rain on top of that. I have Bridgestone Blizzaks on my Grand Cherokee and it just goes and goes and goes!...

Re: AERO Mode

In my USA model Limited, I always turn off the "ECO" mode as soon as I start the vehicle, and it always drops into Aero ride height just the same way it does when ECO is not turned off. It doesn't...

Re: AERO Mode

Another way to look at it might be that the added weight increases the down force on the tires to the road surface, which would increase traction, which, in turn, might decrease the stopping...

Re: AERO Mode

Hmmm....considering what you see happening, maybe the owners manual is just referring to it switching to Normal Ride Height at launch from the lower Entry/Exit position that the vehicle may be in....

Re: AERO Mode

Jim, you are correct. The air suspension will be in the "normal" ride height when in the 'snow" mode.

From the owners manual:

When in Snow mode (depending on
certain operating conditions),...

Re: Winter's Coming - Let's talk snow tires

Actually, that is not true. Dedicated snow tires are made from a rubber compound that out performs all season compounds in colder temps. So if you live in an area where the temps are typically...

Re: Winter's Coming - Let's talk snow tires

I totally agree with this statement. There really isn't any comparison to the braking and cornering ability of an all season tire compared to a dedicated snow tire. I have put Blizzaks on all of my...

Re: Getting rid of the GC for a Renegade, NOT

I like it. Depending on the interior room, I would definitely consider it for a second car.

Re: pricing oddity wrt to tow+offroad i/ii

The Off Road II package includes the Quadra-Lift Air suspension. This is not included in the Off Road I plus Tow package configuration you mentioned. That's why the OR II is more expensive.

Re: Winter tires interesting article

You never really "need" snow tires until your life depends on it. Then, if you don't have them, it's too late.

Very good article. I have Bridgestone Blizzaks on my Grand Cherokee. Would not even consider going through a winter here in central PA without snow tires.

Have you seen these before? I used some years ago and they worked great to plug the holes left by eliminating the front plate. You can still see them, but they don't look too bad.

BumperPlugs for...

Another option would be a drive to upstate NY, the Finger Lakes region, and go to the wineries and do some wine tasting.
