Re: AC compressor is not staying engaged

If it's cycling on and off that fast and it bothers you it may be worthwhile to make sure you're not low on refrigerant.

Re: Incorrect DEF - See dealer

Are you sure it's a regulatory requirement and not another last-minute Chrysler shortcut? Modern cars have tons of emission control gear that just throws a check-engine when it fails instead of...

Re: Nothing good can come of this

No, I'm not missing the point, I just know a little too much about how USB devices work. My complaint about the internet link is a different problem, which I think is more significant than the USB...

Re: Nothing good can come of this

I think this shouldn't be a big deal for in-car systems. A general-purpose computer needs to support random keyboards and network dongles you buy, and needs to be able to boot from external storage...

Re: Where are all the EcoDiesels hiding?

Based on the different headlight style I don't think I see very many 2014 Grand Cherokees of any type in my area. I also see very few new-Cherokees. I'm not sure if people around here aren't...

Re: RWD vs 4X4

This is exactly where I am, though the only technology my old RWD truck has is a (mechanical) LSD so I mostly rely on the nut behind the wheel. RWD, nothing-special tires, no weight in the back other...

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I think the mopar part people thought might cover it turned out to be the skid plate for the urea tank, which is already included with the factory skid plates on the diesel.

Re: Can Our Jeeps Be Hacked?

Those aren't for surveillance. They're to block the government's psychotronic broadcasts. I don't need one because the implant the aliens put in my brain blocks the mind control broadcasts too, but I...

Take a look at these threads for the problems people have had with the DEF injector.

Re: What am I missing...

I think the really nice high-grade vinyls are often simply labeled as leather interiors, with a footnote describing what they really are. Some time ago when I looked in to the subject it looked like...

Re: What am I missing...

Car companies still seem to think that wood is the ultimate form of interior trim for premium vehicles, with leather coming in second. Move up a product line and you see a switch from plastic and...

Re: St Louis Dealer Reccomendation

When it comes to car dealers I think "trust" is a relative term, but here's my (limited) experience with Chrysler dealerships around St Louis.

Re: Why did you factory order your JGC?

Life happened so my plans got delayed, but I was considering a factory order. I wanted a multipurpose vehicle for some rough roads that's also a comfortable daily driver for my long highway commute....

Re: Just What Is An Altitude????

I'm not an expert on the topic, but my impression is that used car pricing (both buying and selling) often has more to do with what's actually installed than with the name of the trim level.

Re: Just What Is An Altitude????

I think the Limited has a slightly higher-end 4x4 system, but it's hard to say if you'd ever notice. The Limited also has more available options if you want them. Some can reasonably be added...

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

It wouldn't surprise me if the Jeep DEF system really was an afterthought. Isn't DEF one of the things that's not on the export diesels? Somebody may have said "don't worry, we'll never sell these in...

Re: Changes for 2015?

Re: Changes for 2015?

They should add an ORA3 package. It would be just like ORA2, but would come standard with 26-inch gold spinners and Quadra-Lift would get a new "jump" setting that automatically engages when sensors...

Re: ORA II - Not all created equal?

I noticed that a while back. I wonder if there is some kind of dependency on Quadra-Lift, which is standard on the Overland but part of ORAII on the Limited.

These forums have already gotten ready. There is a "2015+ Jeep BU" section now.

As for the class, it's a compact crossover, a little smaller than the Compass/Patriot.
