Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yeah, I ended up with a similar gap trying to refit it, had to take it out and try a few times to get those tabs to slide in.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I just had a look and had the same thing. Lots of dust on the clean side of the tear, not good! I've just clicked over 10000kms.

Re: CRD oil on special

The only issue with MB229.51 approval is that it doesn't test for high temp deposits. Atleast with Mobil 1 ESP you have some confidence it meets the standard, but we don't know if others also do, or...

The black plastic tube that the turbo hose joins to (above the radiator) is the turbo silencer. You could replace it with a straight plastic tube.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

My last regen occurred at ~72%, I was offroading up around Maleny and saw the dpf level climb from 64% up into the 70s, started to get worried that it wasn't going to regen on the slow winding roads...

In that case, tell them its not centered and you want it fixed, they should fix it. If they say 'oh that's normal' then point them to the TSB.

Re: CRD oil on special

The decision isn't so easy here is Australia, most dealers don't stock MS11106 compliant oil, but will use MB229.51 compliant oil. You can provide your own but I'm not so sure it's really necessary.

Re: CRD oil on special

Yep, but its pretty close:

MS-11106 compared to MB 229.51:
sulfur content limit. <0.2% vs 0.3%
Sulphated ash content <0.8% vs 0.8%
Phosphorous content <0.08% vs 0.09%
Chlorine content limit....
