Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Not 100% sure, and OK to be corrected.

I think the sump oil pan is attached to a casting that is attached to the engine block, meaning two points to be sealed. The dealer was referring to the seal...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

If your leak is from the upper sump area, it is a major labour intensive job to fix. Expect three days work which is the time it took to fix my leak, and another I am aware of. The oil was dripping...

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

I think it may be worthwhile asking what brand diesel fuel is being used and whether an additive is being added and what brand. Thoughts??

I've now done 14000km in my CRD Laredo 4-13 build and...

Still leaking. Now advised the leak is coming from the upper sump seal. Parts ordered.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

I'm assuming from the engine assembly process. Not sure whether the problem would be human error or automation?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

The Jeep dealer at Ballarat. I've owned Nissans previously (the same dealership) and found the dealership to be good. Hope you get yours sorted, and I don't have any further problems.

Cool Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Problems - Australia

Serviced today. Leak caused by poor sealing of the sump which was removed and resealed. Hopefully all good!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thought I would post a copy (below) of discussion on the Problems Forum about MY2014 CRD oil leaks. Perhaps a bit more prominence here.

I've had the response below, and a PM advising of an oil...

I can only compare the picture quality with my wife's Hyundai i30. The JGC is not as good (particularly at night) but is OK. The lines on the JGC are a little off centre but usable for reversing into...

Re: Other drivers keep thinking my lights are to bright

I've had to adjust mine down too because of constant flashing from oncoming vehicles.

Not mentioned so far in this thread but it is easier to do the adjustment on 'low' beam. The flat top pattern...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It seems the DFP issues being discussed are only occurring within the first few hundred km's with brand new cars. Is this correct or have there been later occurances?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I agree with all above. I am familiar with the DPF system as fitted to Isuzu diesels and the same principals should apply the JGC's. In most cases the 'burn' will occur at normal speed with the...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yes you will need to move the seat. The battery cover has four clips on the sides near the front and rear of the cover. The rear clips are easier to release so it is better to do them first. Move the...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Whilst a faulty battery is a possibility the low voltage reading is a little strange considering the vehicle had been driven. If you are still stuck, try taking a voltage reading on the battery posts...

For those waiting for a trailer wiring loom to suit MY2014 models, I had a call yesterday from my dealer to say the looms are now available. Still waiting for the reversing camera.

Re: The Towing thread

My MY2014 Laredo runs in the 14 volts range initially and then drops to 13.0 volts. So I suspect that's the way they work.

Re: The Towing thread

First post here and soon to have my first Jeep. I have ordered a MY2014 Laredo. Can a rear view camera fitted to a caravan be set up to display in the Jeep display screen?
