Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

An update for my personal situation:

The replacing of the sensor does seem to have helped. It's no longer extremely uncomfortable; unfortunately, the system is still very sub-par. I've been...

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

4 days total: 2 to isolate(/believe) the issue, they ordered the part on Thursday, it arrived Saturday and I got the call to come pick up the car around 2:30pm.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Unfortunately I think it might be more trouble than you anticipate, because I think the sensor is burried. Here's the relevant invoice notes:

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

So I've got the Jeep back, but haven't taken a long enough drive when it's cold out to verify the fix actually worked. The invoice says the cabin temperature sensor was faulty, often giving erratic...

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Yep, and I noticed it on my first drive away from the dealership :(

I'll keep this thread posted when I learn more (not until Saturday at the earliest).

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Not sure on the exact details. They were just informing me they found an issue and were going to jeep my car for a few days. She said it was the "cabin temperature sensor"...

My build date was...

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Finally got them to see the problem. Took them on a ride myself, pointed out when it started happening (which took quite a while, of course).

They took some readings, the internal temp sensor was...

Re: Miles per Gallon

I do about 50/50 driving (lots of city driving during the week, then put about 250 miles on the freeway on the weekends). I'm seeing only about 19mpg in the city, but a nice 27 or so on the freeway.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Happens for me in both auto and manual mode. Happens regardless of what I do, with the exception of leaving recirculation on. My family doesn't want to take my car anymore to go up to the snow (which...

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Just about at my wits end on this one.

Just had a second dealership essentially tell me "normal operation." How can I convince them my $50k car should not be blowing sub-40 degree air on me?

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Very much disagree. Let me paint you the scenario:

- Current ambient temperature of the area is 60 degrees, HVAC off
- HVAC thermostat turned on, set to 68 degrees
- HVAC system blows warm air...

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

I've got the opposite problem: I can have it set to 80 and get blasted with sub-40 outside ambient temperature. This happens in all modes (manual/auto) and the only thing that seems to stop is to...

Re: Heat not adjusting

Unfortunate for me, simply because it means it's not an "affecting everyone" issue which means it'll get less visibility :(

I do indeed have the latest. This issue is extremely frustrating as...

Re: Heat not adjusting

I verified I get cold (possibly outside ambient) air blown on me even in manual mode. It's really behaving like a temp sensor is busted somewhere or it just has some really bad logic. When it senses...

Re: Heat not adjusting

My issues are definitely on auto. My understanding is the only real difference is the blower speed... So if there's something that gets fixed simply by turning off auto, that's pretty bad.

I'll...

Re: Heat not adjusting

I am currently experiencing the fluctuating temperatures in my Overland. I've noticed this only happens when recirculation is off (which on Auto, turns off very very quickly when it's cold out).

Re: Ordering process?

One thing my dealer told me, and I'm not sure if it's true or not, is that you can actually do the paperwork on the deal as soon as the vehicle ships. If you ordered in the next day or two, it...

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Personally, I think financially it works out to offer savings when compared with the Hemi, but not with the V6. Since I knew I personally wanted more power than the V6 had after a few test drives...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I'm 50/50 on leasing vs. buying at this point, so I'm hoping the people calculating the residual value agree with you on the diesel, and it ends up a couple of points higher. If that's the case, the...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information and Pricing

I'm not sure why you'd do 1% off MSRP, my guess is you meant invoice.

Same, as long as we're talking invoice.

Limited
- $49,185 MSRP
- $45,975 1% under invoice

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Ordering Information

Like others, I ran the math for my own personal scenario... In the best case scenario, the Diesel will take about 45,000 miles to make up the cost difference to the Hemi... and more like 80,000+...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Hi Pat, what's your take on that program? Is there any real room for negotiation with a dealer if you're using the preferred pricing program, or is that pretty much rock bottom?

You tease you!...
