You are correct about the area of the PCV. You should be able to see the blue portion of the one on there now at the end of the connecting hose.

It's in a tight spot but you can save a few bucks...

My '06 4.7L has 92,300 miles. Never gives me trouble. Runs and looks like new. Frequent oil/filter and other fluid changes are very important.
