Re: Auto-Dimming Headlights - How do they work?

Yep, cameras/sensor behind the mirror.

I'm just curious to learn WHAT it's looking for, and WHY it does not trip on street lights and and reflected taillights on parked cars. To my detectors (my...

Auto-Dimming Headlights - How do they work?

I love these on my 2011 Limited. They are freakishly accurate for me.

Can anyone describe how these actually work? What does the camera/sensor actually see that trips off the high beams?

Normal? - Ratcheting sound upon loss of traction?

2011 JGC

Last couple snow storms have made for slick roads. I am noticing what seems to be a new "feature".

Not sure how to describe. When I lose traction (i.e., dash light comes on), I...

Re: Kayak transport?

jrein,

I'd strongly recommend a roof rack to carry your kayak, vs leaving the tailgate open.

I've got the Thule rack and J-brackets on my Jeep.

Yep, its a bit off a hoist to get the 49...

Bending Over the 2011 Mast Antenna?

I'll be moving my son from his apartment tonite with my 2011 JGC.

He has a mattress that I plan to throw up onto the Thule roof rack. I just realized the mattress will lie on the mast antenna. I...

Re: Rust - Limited Center Caps - Remove/Replace?

With minimal corrosion like shown in the image above, I am leaning toward NOT refinishing the the whole wheel - yet. I think the best we can hope is to LIMIT the progression of this clearcoat...

This is exactly my fear. The alloy clearcoat has failed on these rims in this same area:

Re: 2011 WK2 - Roof Rail Trim Detached - HELP?

I think I see the solution:

1. Remove the 4 bolts holding down the rail (tagged as Item 3 below). Odd headstyle - Guess I'll need to buy a new socket to match.

2. Remove the entire rail assy...

Re: According to CNN, Chrysler is recalling 2.7M jeeps

I was re-ended (very lightly) years back in my 2000 JGC. The receiver die-cut a perfect 2" x 2" hole in the knucklehead's front bumper. :D

Re: According to CNN, Chrysler is recalling 2.7M jeeps

I have 2 qualifying Jeep GCs. 2000 and 2004.

From what I read sounds like repair is to add more structure in front of the tank, and/or to replace aftermarket hitches with an OEM hitch.

Will...
