Bring up disk utility. Select file->open image. Select the iso file that you downloaded here. It will mount the image and you will see it in the disk utility app. Click on the drive (the parent, not...

Re: 430N no phonebook?

Good question but I don't see how you'd access it. Pressing the phone button goes straight to voice dialing.

Re: Did Shudder TSB fix a problem? 2011 Shudder problems thread

My wife's '07 Honda odyssey had the same issue a year ago. Honda had a "software update" that was suppose to resolve it. It didn't. Honda ended up replacing the torque converter and the problem went...

Re: 430N no phonebook?

I have the 430 in my wk2 and never tried to download the phonebook, if that's even possible. I just voice dial with the phone button on the steering wheel or on the face of the 430. Press the button,...

Re: caveat emptor - let the flaming begin

Statistically speaking, MCSA is only wrong 0% of the time. I would say he's several standard deviations away from the mean.

Re: 2011 Grand Cherokee vs. 2011 Ford Explorer

Isn't this what bmwister did (by publishing his own, real world data) and you berated him saying the auto rag numbers were higher? I'm just an ignorant wk2 owner with a hemi in FL (and I don't tow),...

Re: 430n auto zoom

I can oan around the map on my 430N by touching the map once and then touch/holding a point on the map and dragging it. The graphics take a split second to respond but it does work. I don't use this...

Re: 430n auto zoom

Mine does this but I actually like it. I want to be closer in on the map when I'm driving slow. And zoomed out when at highway speeds. If I'm in an unfamiliar area, I'd rather adjust the zoom...

Re: uconnect 430 n

I agree. The voice dialing on the 430N is very very accurate. I only have one person (with a difficult/odd last name) that consistently fails on voice dialing. All other names work great.

Re: Best practices for loading music on 430n HDD?

Just a note... these systems (both the 430N and gracenotes - together or separately) do NOT read any bar codes. Gracenotes figures out the disc information by looking at the total disc length,...

Re: What's that sensor-looking thing?

Digital camera? Isn't that a sensor (that happens to be able to create an image based on the light that hits the CMOS sensor).

Re: Minor Bug/Annoyance with EVIC

I definitely wouldn't characterize it as "affecting the 430N" because the 430N behaves as it should. It's the EVIC that goes to back to the wrong screen after the EVIC says that the wk2 has just...

Re: What's that sensor-looking thing?

I think that sensor is on the face of the rearview mirror. You'll notice a small sensor in the upper-center portion of the mirror. The sensor for autodimming needs to "look" behind the vehicle.

Re: Minor Bug/Annoyance with EVIC

Thanks for the feedback. Like you, the first time I thought I hit the back button. But I didn't.

Anyway, it's just a small annoyance. Otherwise the vehicle is outstanding.

Re: UPDATE...2011 Nav. Systems

Re: UPDATE...2011 Nav. Systems

I politely disagree. An 8 million entry search on a >500MHz processor should take under a second to complete. And the first 4 entries would be displayed much quicker. So the user wouldn't know the...

Re: If Gas Were $5.00 Would You Still Buy a WK2?

This is an interesting discussion. Look at the sales numbers for the Jeep GC in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004... when gas was $1.20 (or so) per gallon. Today, gas (in my area) is $3.00 and Jeep is poised...
