Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Just guessing, but part of the issue is when the QL system fails, it's pretty abrupt and has a large impact, since it's a single system that potentially affects the entire vehicle.

Where as...

Re: Attention JGC Overland or Summit owners....

Mine does have the auto setting, still nice to remember to hit it coming in, that way it settles just that much faster.

I'm grateful for this feature for my wife as well.

I also use it at...

Re: My first recovery didn't go so well

Perhaps unrelated, something I've not seen much up here, but seems common on the vehicles in Australia, is a small pole on the left front corner (for us, it would be the right front corner).

Is...

Re: Show off your key ring

Too funny.

I, too, have that same '93 Explorer key chain, and, yes, the Jeep Fob is hanging off of it.

It even still has the "drop in any mailbox" tag thing on it (though it's probably not...

Re: 2004 trail rated

I can't speak to Liberty's, but not all Jeeps get "Trail Rated".

A 4x2 Summit is most certainly not "Trail Rated".

On the GCs, Trail Rated is basically a 4x4 with skid plates and tow hooks.

Re: 4 clicks to get liftgate open

But that's the boggle of it. Why can't the first click of the two clicks wake it up like the one click of the unlock button?

Makes no sense.

There's some subtle timing problem underlying this I...

Re: Exterior Door Lock Button: multiple presses to lock doors?

So, after more play.

I seem to have better results if I wait a beat or too after closing the door. Sometimes I'll see the turn indicator blink on the mirror. If I see that, I definitely know to...

Re: 4 clicks to get liftgate open

Mine does 4 clicks, but I simply don't bother any more. It's just easier for me to open the gate by hand. I rarely have my keys in hand, and open the gate with my hand unlocks the truck at the same...

Re: If you were to give up your GC today, what would you get?

If I didn't have this Jeep, I'd likely have a new Explorer. I would have swapped out my old one for a new one. I didn't because the new Explorer is nowhere near as capable as the JGC is. In fact,...

Re: Should i get my oil changed at the dealer?

I basically did this same thing. It's only good at my dealer, but they own the two closest ones I would go to anyway. Basically $16/oil change + 1 tire rotation per year. Currently I'm averaging ~750...

The Jeep is an expense. It's money down...

Absolute nonsense.

Re: How much was a wj brand new

For some perspective.

According to The Inflation Calculator (http://www.westegg.com/inflation/) which is an inflation calculator.

$34,415 in 1999 dollars is equivalent to $47,558 in 2013.

Re: If Ford ever did this, Jeep would be forced to up their QC

Re: If Ford ever did this, Jeep would be forced to up their QC

That would have got a serious look by me when I was shopping. The GC is basically in a field of 1 in the US right now. The FJ and XTerra are just too rough and tumble, the US Explorer simply has no...

What are...

Also, they didn't have any of the green ones. There were very few green at ALL, in the STATE, much less in my configuration....

I have just over 6000 city...
