Re: Minor incident... ideas on a cheap fix?

Not sure about your area but here in the Chicago area there is a company called Carnica that fixes minor dents and scratches. Maybe you can find a place similar to that in your area to just touch up...

Re: When to use Tow/Haul

My boat/trailer combo weighs a little over 3000Lbs and around here with the flat roads I don't use the tow/haul button very often. Only time I really use it is up north where there are more hills.

Re: Late transmission engagement

The WJ that I had did that and my WK does it too. The WK is even worse than the WJ was. I have taken it to the dealer at least 3 times now and all they do is change the fluid/filters but it hasn't...

Re: K & n ?

I seriously don't understand the concern of the oil?? What is it going to harm? I use oil (injected directly into the carb/throttle body) to "fog" various engines during the off season.

Re: K & n ?

I have used k&n drop in's on many vehicles and have never had any problems. With as quickly as a paper filter gets clogged in my area the k&n's save me money in the long run.

Re: 2wd hemi

This would probably make me actually like my WK.. I'm somewhat old school as I like to be in control of the vehicle - not a computer.

Re: Sea-Foaming an Engine?

My opinion is that with the quality of the additives in gas today and regular oil changes this shouldn't be needed. It may help in a high mileage vehicle that was neglected but for a fairly new...

Re: SRT8 Grill on a WJ?

Thanks Scott!

Forgot to add a link to the wjjeeps site on custom grill inserts.

If I were to do it again I would use some better/thicker...

Re: SRT8 Grill on a WJ?

I did the mesh grill insert on my WJ a few years back. I didn't remove the inner structure of the grill. Just sandwiched the mesh between the inner and outer parts of the grill. Used the "gutter...

Re: Suspension with SPARE

If it's not full time 4x4 I wouldn't worry about it. Use the spare and just don't put it in 4wd.

Re: Should i buy this?

Not to be a dick, but I think you are going to have a hard time getting 4K for your '99. I sold my '00 a couple years ago for less than 2k. The price on that '02 seems fair to me.

Re: SRT front Sway bar bushings

If the diameter of the SRT bar is different from the regular WK bar the stock bushings will NOT work. I would just call Peter @ J4J to make sure you get what you need.

Re: Is A/C turned on with heater?

Most of the older vehicles with manual hvac controls the a/c compressor will cycle when set to defrost and bi level. It shouldn't cycle when set to heat. This helps to lube the compressor and seals...

Re: harmonic balancer

On a stock engine you're probably not going to notice any difference. Maybe a little if it's an under drive setup. Your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Nice looking WK. That really is a nice color. I know in the sig it says 32" tire but are they metric? If so what size? Looks awesome

Re: Stock brakes performance

With the stock WK brakes a hard stop from 130 Mph is going to toast the rotors. I don't know of too many non-performance vehicles that have brakes that can handle hard stops from that far north of...

Re: Oil change took almost 8 qts (HEMI)

That's very strange. Mine is full with 7 quarts. If I check it right after changing it's a little low but after sitting a few hours it's full.

Something just doesn't look right with that first video. He's either really good at editing video or a master fabricator to fit an M5 engine in that WK.

Re: O..m...g

I had a Monte SS back in the '90's. Fun car. I put a 350/700r4/12 bolt rear in it and spanked 5.0's everywhere I went :slapfight:

IMO the Monte would be more of a toy than a daily driver...

Re: Lift kit. Yes or No??

I think I may still have the 2" Rusty's spacers I had on my '00 WJ somewhere in my garage. If I can find them you can have them for the cost of shipping. Let me know and I'll look for them.

Pretty sure that's just a typo.

Edit: I see they listed 0.45 0.50 etc. The decimal is just in the wrong place.
