Re: 20" Tyre Thread

That looks better, no marks on the tyre I don't think there is an movement flex at the top. Have tested it with some flex.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Yes, it's very close but I think the worst it's going to do is carve a groove into the tread. It looks well clear of the carcase which is the main worry.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

imaz,
I've got you on my watch list :moon: :)

Brett,
The wheel alignment won't affect the gap between the tyre the top of the steering knuckle. Be wary of having Jeep do the wheel alignment. ...

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

They look great - it looks like a Jeep now. Is there any rubbing?

I have QL and 275/55-20 Duratracs, and at Park height, full lock right, there is some rubbing, not a lot. It's noticeable in...

Re: Tire questions

I've never understood why some think that a slight difference in tire radius is going to harm the drive train. Not trying to be a smart here. Maybe I'm just missing something.

Here's the way I...

Re: WK2 DownUnder

So some are starting to move on from Jeep. But I'm still unable to think of a better vehicle for my family. We just had a week up the coast as we do each year at Xmas and our jeep just does...

20" Tyre Thread

I just fitted the Bridgie 697 this morning, previously I could just get a finger between the tyre and the bolt with 275/55/20, with the 285/60/18 it actually has slightly more room, it will really...

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Airing down will not affect the profile up high, only the contact patch. However, I share your concern about the clearance. The control arm you are referring to is the top of arm of the steering...

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Dont forget the kl21s are very lightly rated best going for the kl33 if you decide on kumhos. I have set i would nearly give away taking up room in my garage they have done 10k. Still like new. Only...

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

This is probably not what you want to hear but honestly, if "almost all" of your off-roading is on beach sand, you are better off sticking with your OEM passenger tyres. Successful sand driving is...

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Just in case it helps, I'm running 275/55's and they rub, both front and back on suspension travel, and front when on full lock.

This is for 2015GC limited, so I'd recomend smaller - oh and also...

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

Brett I run exactly what snake doctor recommends and I got a spare tyre off my dealer, it is second hand but still plenty of tread for a spare.

Re: 20" Tyre Thread

My standing recommendation for 20 inch light off road is 275/55/R 20 which is, +4% OD 810mm. For your spare can use a 255/70/R18: 814mm, like the
Bridgestone D840 H/T.

Extra sidewall will help...

Re: Grand Cherokee in the media

The really stupid thing is that other brands have the same problem with dealers refusing to fix stuff. How many prado owners have had injector and turbo problems, but toyota won't fix them? I had a...

Re: WK2 Offroad

Love them mate i went from kumhos to these due to going 10" wide. Still have the smaller kumhos for sale. Any 20" or even an 18" is an extra challenge in sand due to the lower profile. 16" as we know...

Re: Jeep service costs

My local dealer (Cessnock nsw) quoted me $700+ for my diesel 40,000km service. I called Artarmon and they quoted something over $1,000. When I asked why they said that the service schedule in the...
