Re: Turning Rotors

Asleeper, you got a wk1 srt8 jeep? I'm not saying that what you've typed is impossible, maybe pure hwy driving, even then it's very unlikely. If rotors get warped it's because they are too thin,...

Re: Turning Rotors

I resurfaced my rotors after the breaks started biting into them at ~15.5k and got a good 1k miles out of them before a splash in the wet and they promptly got warped. I'm looking for other options...

Wow ... glad you're all ok.

So once again I pat myself on the back for really liking my stock monky rims.

Radiator leak!

So Moby's been down for 2 weeks now. I noticed pink spots on my garage floor, at first freaked out thinking transmission but after opening the hood noticed coolant was on the low border. Refilled...

Re: WTB 2014 White SRT8 Jeep

I've had mine for exactly a year now and I'll entertain selling in a decade :)

I tend to hang on to my vehicles for a long time and this is by far the nicest one I've had.

Re: 0W40 Oil Wear After 5000 Miles

Yup, it's esp important to change oil on new vehicles as a lot of mental gets shaved into the oil. While it may not be apparent at first you could help your engine a lot in the long term by doing a...

Re: New 2015 Challenger Hellcat

The z06 will be in the 100k+ price range. It will have track capability in the supercar range stock. In terms of bang for the buck nothing out there outperforms it.

The challenger is the only...

Re: New 2015 Challenger Hellcat

What is the size of those wheels? The article says 20" but what is the width of the rim? Looks awful narrow to me.

Re: 14 vs 12/13 headlights/ front end

Beware of being able to install a "factory" tow package. I'm not sure it's as simple as removing whatever the previous owner has done and putting in a new one. There are other discussions on this...

Re: Replacement tires on stock wheels

In theory and in the real world is the same chit. Physics is the law. Lots of people try to squeeze more performance out of these jeeps, sticking 22" wheels on them is not one of the ways. If you...

Re: Replacement tires on stock wheels

Except that this would require a 22" wheel and it will absolutely affect his performance more than just getting a wider tire.

The guy said that he thought the 45 meant the height of the...

OK this is really starting to bother me a bit with people saying the 22" rims are lighter and will somehow improve your performance... I don't buy it in general.

Unless you're spending 5k+ I...

Re: 2012 Supercharged Results….

Stories like this are what makes me hesitant of ever doing anything with my Jeep.

Frankly I thought the 20k for the return was worth it, that's RWP so you're getting 100+ at the crank. The fact...

Re: 6.4 engine

The 6.4L crate engine is different (and much better) compared to the engines they put in the SRT vehicles like our Jeeps. The crates are good for all sorts of abuse with much less risk if you want...

Re: 30 degree launch...3.8sec

Never mind, found the answer with a quick google search. Interesting to say the least... in cold weather technically the lower rpm should be better for controlling wheel slip.

Used LC for first time on a slight upgrade and got 4.3, these things are stupidly fast for their size. I'm completely stock and have about 3K miles on it. Temperature was in the 40s.
