Re: For those with the Indigo Blue/Brown Interior, how do you like it?

Wow, great pictures. Well done.

And I think it that color combo is FANTASTIC!

Re: My 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland (Granite) *photo heavy*

Congrats. Love the fact you took some great pics at a work site instead of a mall parking lot! Well done!

Re: Help me decide -- Black/Black or Black/Indigo

Personally, I'm really tired of black-on-black.

Indigo/brown is very european and I think it's pretty cool. Bravo to Jeep for even offering it in the US.

True, there's a lot going on with...

Re: GC Diesel vs. V6 vs. V8 vs. Touareg TDI

Exactly. They should add bring over the ROW air/lockers/low-range/surround cameras/park aid, etc. to the NA T3 and move it upmarket to compete with the Land Rovers. It just can't compete in the...

Re: GC Diesel vs. V6 vs. V8 vs. Touareg TDI

I'd be more concerned with Ford SYNC than the interior. That is the absolute, most frustrating system I've ever used. Seriously.

Re: GC Diesel vs. V6 vs. V8 vs. Touareg TDI

Love me some TDI Touaregs. Too bad about air suspension, 4xMotion, surround-view cameras, multiple TDI options, especially the V8, etc. Not for us 'merkuns.

If you need to get a diesel, I'd go...

Re: V-6 or V-8 on 2014-- Opinions

Old-school thought to a long thread: The more powerful engine has to work less.

The "gain" in the GC V6 (3 MPG) is negligible, to me, if I'm only going to wish for more power every day I drove my...

Re: 2014 Durango headlights

"DODGE"

They look like a plug and play "fit" for pre-2014s, too. Hopefully, it's just a matter of a harness.

Re: Took Delivery 2014 Overland

Congratulations! Sweet ride. Glad it wasn't ruined with a front plate. That shifter is a massive oversight, though. Weird that none of the hands that touched it before you noticed/fixed it.

Re: '13 buying advice-worth it?

You've got some good advice, above. I will add that I prefer NOT to have to go through a series of menus to turn on/off heated seats, etc. I prefer hard buttons. I prefer the '13s. Great deals out...

Re: Grand Cherokee or Range Rover Evoque?

This is the exact reason I would never buy a Land Rover if I needed to travel outside metro areas. Which I do.

If your rig broke down in the middle of bumf***, I'd rather be sittin' in a Jeep with...

Re: JGC CRD vs. VW Touareg TDI

Ha! Now that's funny. You're probably right. They do require a different kind of tolerance and care. Especially the '03/04 Touaregs. Released too early.

Marchionne was wise to delay the GC so...

Re: JGC CRD vs. VW Touareg TDI

If you need serious off-road chops, go GC (I can't wait to drive the diesel motor). For basic off-roading, ride-quality, fit-finish and resale, I'd go VW, personally. Plus, you won't see yourself...

2014 Pics No Camo

http://www.leftlanenews.com/jeep-grand-cherokee-2014.html

OK, I'll be in Detroit to see the real thing to make a final call, but, what happened? That grille, those Audi-esque lights? Hmmm.

Re: JGC 2012 or 2013

I think that's a good plan. Also, the GC will have been in production for 2.5 years and most bugs (as with all new vehicles) should be sorted out.

I've been patiently waiting, myself.

Good luck.

Re: WK2 Trip - San Juan Mountains

Welcome. Personally, I would wait for the 2013. Read the Sticky section above explaining the differences/changes. There are more than enough upgrades to make it worthwhile:

Thanks for sharing and posting your pics, they're great. I've done that area in a Touareg with air suspension and had a blast.

Personally, I don't really care that much about seeing wheels and body mods...

Re: How's reliability if without Air Suspension? (Just checked truedelta.com)

Overall, the GC has been very reliable. The A/S issues are, partly, due to:

1. New technology for Jeep (VW, MB, BMW, etc. all had same issues at launch)
2. Service Depts. weren't up to speed with...

Re: Perfect iPhone Spot...Almost

I like the OPs solution. For me, though, I've had to put mine in the storage compartment. It's truly the only way I won't touch it while driving.

Out of sight, out of mind.

Re: Folding Mirrors?

There has to be a work-around, the Mercedes ML/GL have that capability. Keep digging, someone has to have an answer for that. It's a great feature.

If it fits into your budget, I would suggest getting it.

Re: Finally did it! Picking up my new Overland monday. Quick question.

Tough call. It happened to me once. It bugged me to have the plate on there, but I forgot to specify "no plate" in all the excitement. I got over it. Everything else was exactly as I wanted.

Re: Wrong engine ordered for wifes jgc!

My grandfather, who retired from Shell, always said, "The bigger, more powerful engine doesn't have to work as hard to haul a truck around. Go big for a rig."

Hemi.

I wish the JGC came in this color:

Re: Tough color decision: deep Cher red or min gray?!?

Percent to total, the white-to-silvers are what people want. They also have a higher resale value in the used market. Price a red SUV against the exact same silver SUV and it will be lower.

Green...

Re: Took the front air dam off, and ACC sensor

Thanks for the heads up. This is by far the most glaring design flaw of the JGC, I think. Then, what? Throw the dam in the back and haul it all over Moab or leave it on the side of the road?
