Re: Defective oil pans 1999-2003

I don't think the oil pans were recalled, but I had to replace the one in my 99' a few years ago after it rusted out.

Re: liftgate flipper glass problem

Look into adjusting the latch as remmy said, its pretty easy. I haven't had any problems either since I move the latch outward a little.

Re: Oil Pan Replacement

I replaced mine a few years ago, and once I finally got the exhaust unbolted it wasn't that bad. The tab that holds one of the exhaust bolts bent in, and they would just spin around. I had to take...

Re: Bad rear end noise!

Frango100, I do have Quadra-Trac II on it. I will will look into the chain on it once it starts to get warmer out. I have to do the rear axle seals anyway, so I will probably look into it when I do...

Re: Bad rear end noise!

Have you checked the transfer case? Mine makes a noise kind of like you described on heavy acceleration and slippery surfaces, and its has perplexed me. My best guess so far is that it starts to...

Re: Electrical and lights

My Dash lights flicker too. I have been told by some that its the key switch, and some that its the light switch. How do I determine which one is the culprit, they seem to start to flicker more...

Re: 2006 rusting jeep!

My glass used to rattle on bumps, so I adjusted the latch inwards slightly to hold it tighter. I heard from a friend who does body work though that it is a somewhat common issue on SUV's with a rear...

Re: 2006 rusting jeep!

I have had the exact same problem, and have just learned to reapply touch up paint every so often if the paint appears to be worn off. Another trick that I learned from someone was to put electrical...

Re: 245/65-17 replacement

I got the wrangler Silent Armors back in august in that size, and am so far very impressed with how they handle the snow, and they're pretty quiet too.

I got those same ones from advance, and so far they have been working for a year in a cold climate. Mine had the torx bolts on them, but I think you can use either one. On the WJ, I bought some...

Re: URGENT help needed - wont start 07 WK 5.7L

Good to hear! I got my battery from wally, it was like $79 compared to the $150 from Advanced Auto Parts for what appeared to be the same Johnson Controls battery with the same warranty.

Re: URGENT help needed - wont start 07 WK 5.7L

That is what my 4.7 did when the starter went bad. Some times if you tried to turn it over enough times it would eventually decide to crank. There seems to be a lot of people around here who have...

Re: Help...Driver's Seat Loose, But Seat Bolts Tight? (02 JGC Lmtd)

My seat used to do that, one of the welds broke(the seat frame is pretty cheap metal) on one of the pins that tilts the front of the seat up and down. It would probably be worth unbolting the seat...

Re: Goodyear Wrangler SR-A or Something Better?

I agree with the buying tires online, in the long run you are probably just as good buying at a store, and there is always somewhere to go back to. Hope you like the Grabber HTS, I've heard a lot of...

Re: Goodyear Wrangler SR-A or Something Better?

IMO the GY Wrangler SR-A isn't quite as bad as everyone says. Just put the 3rd set of them on the WJ last fall(Mine has 245/70-16 tires stock), and with 165k on it, I have to say that they lasted...

Yeah the steel one if heavy to take off, but those elongated holes in the front definitely make it a breeze to put on despite the weight, rather than having to hold the whole thing up while you bolt...

Re: Oil sludge problem 4.7

You should be able to get the pan out by simply unbolting the exhaust from the headers and removing the starter. It's a tight fit, but you will eventually get it out. The hardest part on mine was...

2005 4.7L Starting Issues

I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7L. Lately it has been having intermittent starting problems, which I initially though was from a dead battery. $90 later, the dealer says they couldn't find...
