Re: 2014 Overland Spare Tire

If you do not like the spare offered, go ahead and buy a factory wheel and matching tire. I changed out my steel wheel to the aluminum wheel to match the Summit. Love it. I just had to weld on an...

Re: HEMI Badge - Gonna add one to the 2014

eBay...but the cost has gone up. You can easily find the red HEMI lettering for $12-$15, but for some reason the chrome HEMI lettering emblems are running $35 and higher each. Just search red & black...

Re: HEMI Badge - Gonna add one to the 2014

Great thread....like others I was disappointed that Jeep stopped putting the HEMI badges on so I added the red/black one to match my Jeep. Then the new Summits came with a better badge than the 13's,...

Re: Any prior Avalanche Owners? About to purchase JGC

I had a 2004 Avalanche that I absolutely loved. It was heavily modified and was trouble free for 70K. I traded it for the 2013 Summit and never looked back. I had used the bed in the Avalanche for...

Re: R18 Spare Tire with R20 Tires Installed

Only one way to find out on your 2014. I jacked up a front wheel and removed it and then removed the stock spare and placed the front wheel (face up) in the spare location and found that the lid...

Re: R18 Spare Tire with R20 Tires Installed

Sorry redrockv8....I could not see where to edit the post to correct "warp" to WRAP. I used a heavy cloth bag to enclose the jack and placed it under the rim so it does not rattle or hit the rim.
I...

Re: Oversized spare tire for GCs with bigger tires

That is odd. The OEM retainer I used to extend does not hit my cover......
The OEM retainer is kinda cupped to fit down into the center hole and not protrude.

Re: Oversized spare tire for GCs with bigger tires

If the wheel is flipped face up the cover will close, but then the styrofoam tool holder can’t be used and a new hold down bracket would need to be made. With the wheel face up the flat “spokes”...

Re: Highway Mileage

On the return trip of 440 miles from Denver I kept it about 74mph on cruise and got 20.2pmg.....not much improvement from going 80mph. But so much better than my 5.3L Avalanche that I used to drive!!

Re: R18 Spare Tire with R20 Tires Installed

Actually the stock 20" do fit in the spare tire well. But you need to reverse the rim to permit the lid to close. This requires a longer spare tire hold down bolt and you need to warp the jack and...
