Re: Should i get my oil changed at the dealer?

Always check their work. Some stores might have good mgt., but a lot of them do not. Mine did not. I was charged for work they claimed to have done but never touched.

They're often called Iffy...

Re: Should i get my oil changed at the dealer?

I'm pretty sure that if the receipt is on the MOPAR letterhead sheet, it's good at any dealer. It surprised me when I got p.o.'d at my dealership and quit going there. The honest dealer I took it to...

Re: Should i get my oil changed at the dealer?

I don't know if they still offer it, but I bought 4 oil changes for $65 at the dealer. It's a MOPAR deal and good at any dealer. I can't change it myself for that much.

I always check their work,...

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

I was trying to say they could give the lifetime a transferable end date like the non-lifetime warranties so as not to penalize buyers of the lifetime.

For example, I sell my car at 5yrs or...

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

I bought the Maxcare lifetime, but they should make it transferable like the shorter plans... up to the year/mileage of the longest finite plan. It would only be fair and help resale should my plans...

Re: 2014 build quality

'14 Overland, V6. Fit and finish is exemplary. It needed an alignment and wheel balance, but no issues since. May '13 build. Love it.

Re: Nail in tire. Question regarding replacements

Another alternative. Buy two and keep them on the same axle. Just do front to back rotations (no crisscross).

Re: Anyone consider the new 2014 Toyota Highlander?

OMG! WWII was total warfare by all sides. London, Dresden, Berlin, etc. were bombed to rubble. Do you think for one minute the Japanese would have refrained from bombing a U.S. city if they had the...

Re: Paddle Shifters - Hate 'em

Being the OP, I'm not sure whether this was directed at me or not but imo, paddle shifters are strictly boy racer in a luxury SUV. Of course, if you do a lot of off-roading that would be an...

Re: Paddle Shifters - Hate 'em

Yeah, either way works. For me, pulling back on the shifter seems faster. No waiting, except for the time it takes for your hand to get their.

Re: Anyone consider the new 2014 Toyota Highlander?

I don't know how much different the 14 is, but my wife and I drove a 13 Highlander before buying a 14 Overland. Our impression was that we considered the Jeep to be a fun vehicle that we looked...

Re: Dash shutting down

Mine did this once after going through a car wash. When I got home, I pushed all the fuses down in their seats. All of them could be pushed down about 3/16". I don't know if that was what the problem...

Willx

I notice he hasn't posted for a month. I hope he's OK and just on a break from us OCD Jeep owners.

Would be quite a loss to lose his expertise.

Re: Blackstone Oil Analysis Report on Factory Fill Oil 2014 Pentastar V6 with 6000 Mi

"George: Lots of metal turned up in this sample"

That's why I still change factory oil at 1000 miles. Probably nothing to worry about like Blackstone says, but I like to get it out of there. Just...

Re: Moo-ing noise...driver seat...2014 Overland

Since it only happens before I start the car and I'm shifting my weight, I figure it's not worth messing with. (Especially, the dealer.)

Re: 2014 Capless Fuel Filler Cap

I'm pretty sure it is related to the length of the metal coil on the pumps's filler spout. It the coil is too long, the spout can't reach deep enough to open the flap inside the neck. It happened to...

I saw this on the Jeep Dashboard, but when I tried to view the pdf for details I got an error message. Can't anyone get technology to work anymore?

Eco mode loves cool weather?

Since the weather has...

Paddle Shifters - Hate 'em

I have no use for them on my '14 Overland. I've bumped them accidentally on two occasions. Once, in heavy 4 lane traffic when I wanted to accelerate and was momentarily stuck in 8th gear, so there...

I've decided that the nozzle has to go in a minimum...

Re: 2014 Motor Trend SUVOTY

I totally do not understand their criticism of the GC road manners. I think my Overland is a perfect blend of ride firmness, damping, and body roll for a vehicle of its size. In that regard, I can't...

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland - Dash lit up like a christmas tree, speedometer not working

I got the same behavior after a car wash. Just for the heck of it, I looked in the fuse module. I found nearly all the fuses were about 1/8" from being fully seated. Probably not related to the...

Re: Moo-ing noise...driver seat...2014 Overland

Mine does it, too. I'd describe it more as a creaky squeak, but it definitely comes from the lumbar bladder. I only notice it when I get in the car, never on the road. So I haven't done anything...
