I'm thinking about doing this and I'd make sure to get side LEDs. These are LEDs that shine out through the edge of the strip instead of straight up.

Make sure you get authentic 3M film. Some places advertise 3M but it isn't. I went to Auto Image in Central NJ to get my tinting done and they did a great job and they left the 3M logo on the tint...
