Re: What does snow mode do?

I have Nokians with the snowflake rating and the second gear start in snow mode is an improvement over "Auto".

Re: What does snow mode do?

I've noticed a big difference on our unplowed winter road - the second gear start and non-aggressive shifts make it a lot smoother going through the snow.

Re: I'm done with Lube Joints

You should read the horror stories on the Corvette forums about lube places and even Chevy dealers ruining a simple oil change. The Z06 has a dry sump system with the big 11 qt. reservoir in plain...

With all the electronics on this vehicle and the air suspension ($3000+ compressor) and my plans to keep it as long as possible, the MaxCare lifetime was a no brainier for me. Of, course, you have to...

Re: Purchase Advice Requested - V6 vs. ecodiesel

Yes, the MDS system reduces to 4 cylinder operation under light loads and the Hemi is great with the new 8 speed. However, if your main criteria is fuel economy, obviously the V6 and diesel will be...

Re: Looking to buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee..

The 8 speed in the 14's and up is quite an improvement and if finances allow, is worth the upgrade. The transmission issue in the V6's was primarily in the early build '14's, but I would make sure...

Re: When to change oil

You can't go wrong with perpster's recommendation. With the V8 just make sure you use the recommended viscosity as it can affect proper operation of the MDS feature.

QD2 is also available on the Limited with the Diesel or V8 as part of the ORA2 package. It's not available with the V6 on any configuration.

Re: 5.7L Hemi - where's the horsepower hiding?

The axle ratio for the older Hemi's was 3.73 compared to the much taller 3.09 ratio used currently for better fuel economy. That taller ratio adversely affects acceleration, although the 8 speed's...

You would get a slight benefit by up shifting into 8th sooner and maintaining 8th gear on mild upgrades rather than downshifting into a lower gear.

Re: 2014 V8 transmission software update. Get it done or no?
