Re: Group IV Tow Package

Well you can write customer care (customerassist@chrysler.com) with your VIN and they should be able to send you the "as built" option list. If it says "220A alternator" or if it doesn't they can...

Mostly anymore I use my cell phone - its Sat-Nav is realtime and voice actuated. Have a BT connection so uses the radio to speak and mirror mike. Mount fits in CD slot. Also has 14GB/500 albums on an...

Re: Issue free

Lincoln's head heck, I can barely see his nose and these tires are walking in a typical rainstorm. Hadn't seen the TC light near as much in '12 and '13.

Re: MaxCare Warranty??

Two things:
1) For the '12 went with the Lifetime Added Care+ service contract. For about $700 less and $100 deductable (and having a lift at home) the major items I cared about (including the TIPM)...

I went the opposite route: standard radio & Uconnect for HFP with and external tablet that just uses the aux input or Bluetooth.

Re: Issue free

This is getting silly. I have bought quite a few new cars, none stayed completely stock for long but I consider a car that just needed routine maintenance for 100,000 miles to have had no faults.

Re: Issue free

My only issue with my '12 at 18k miles has been the F-150 that tried to mount it from the rear (but the receiver kept it at bay).

Am noticing that with 6/32nds left on the Goodyears I am seeing...

Re: RIPP 3.6 Cherokee Project Another World First

Just an observation but the W5A580 seems to be able to handle a lot more torque than the 3.6 can put out even boosted.

ps I thought much of the power increase for a boosted engine comes from a...

Re: Hemi or diesel based on this criteria (Canada)....

For me that choice is a no braner: get the diesel, it is much more efficient and modern than the hemi. On any WK2 I'd get the long term service contract, the electronics can get expensive quickly.

Re: Towing thread

Helped a freind move about 200 miles this weekend with a 6x12 tandem axle U-Haul. 13.8 mpg. I tow my 3500 lb TrailManor camper about 5 mph faster and get 17-18. Only real difference is the drag area...

NHTSA 14v-391

Re: Overheating issue?

Just for the curious, on a 95+ Florida day after about an hour at 70 with the AC on my coolant reads 203-204, oil 185, trans 167. Same towing a 3500 lb trailer: 203-204, 192, 180. '12 3.6.

Have...

Re: Towing thread

My '12 owner's manual mentions 40 sq. ft. with the V6 which is OK because my TM 2720SL fits pretty much in the Jeep's slipstream. Tows nicely at 65 mph & typically 17-18 mpg.

Re: Might need to Sell my Jeep Quickly

1100/mo sounds like a 36mo loan, refi for 72 mo and payment would drop A Lot as mentioned. Only issue would be if there is a significant early payoff penalty with the original loan (why I use my...

Re: What's your opinion on fuel?

As mentioned gas is gas, same amount of "power" in a gallon 87 or 93 PON. What higher octane does is burn slower (so needs more advance) and autoignites (detonates) at a higher pressure (to avoid...

Re: 2012 Grand cherokee starting problems

First thing to do is to put a fuel pressure guage on the injector rail. Where it is depends on which engine you have but will just be a schraeder valve and should have a cap on it.

Anything over...

Re: 11k miles and blown Transmission

Do know the trans used with a 6 is lighter duty than the one for the Hemi or Diesel but something is bothering me. With a 1.6:1 4th you should get close to 70 mph at 4000 rpm, so it may say "4th" but...

Re: Welp...RWD Grand Cherokee's are basically useless off road

Actually I have a "Mall Crawler" but it is not the GC. Crossfire with its 14.5:1 first gear (4.46:1 1st , 3.25:1 axle) is much better at ultra low speeds. I usually start in 2nd (2.61:1).

Re: Bought a 14 yesterday and aproblems already

BTW P300 means generic misfire/multiple cyl so not a plug wire or coil. If it had been just one cyl, the last digit would say which one (e.g. P0302 - #2 cyl), was often a bad head in '11-'13 but '14s...

Re: 2011-13 wk2 3.6L

Probably not the most popular opinion IMNSHO but the only real benefit the 3.6 gets from a CAI is sound and the stock plastic "hose" is a better insulator than metal.

Re: V6 Cylinder Head Failure

With an OBD dongle and Torque Pro, one of the tests will display both current and history misfires by cylinder. I usually run about monthly. Have seen just 0-2 misfires. If over 100 I'd get concerned.
