Re: Not another LED headlight accent thread!

This sounds right. I have a 1st gen WK but my 300 works as you described and the design of the lights are very similar.

Re: Disabling LED highlights on headlight assembly

Cutting the parking light wire would probably kill them, but you'd also lose your parking lights, of course. And yes, the BCM is what controls the lighting.

Re: Disabling LED highlights on headlight assembly

Well, crap. That means it's likely set up exactly like the 300. Looking closely, it looks like I could snip my LED wires by removing one of the caps on the back of the housing. That might be an...

Re: Disabling LED highlights on headlight assembly

Unfortunately, I don't think it would have been accessible without disassembling the light housings (on the 300, at least). The LEDs are mounted to a large plastic bezel and the PCB is mounted...

Disabling LED highlights on headlight assembly

EDIT: Nevermind. It looks like it doesn't matter.

What do you guys have for parking lights?

Disabling LED highlights on headlight assembly

That's what I was saying. On the 300 (which has a very similar LED ring) the DRL lead and the parking light lead both go into the headlight housing and connect to a board inside. That board then...

Re: Disabling LED highlights on headlight assembly

I haven't looked at the GC lights, but I'm guessing they're very similar to the ones in my 300. On those, there's a circuit board inside the housing that drives the LED board. It has feeds for both...

Re: Factory-style WK sub install

I personally wouldn't even waste my time getting that amp setup. It won't even begin to tickle a Solo Baric. If it works at all, it's going to just do some random vibrating.

Re: Factory-style WK sub install

It looks like it has high level inputs, which is good. But, that's a really low power amp. What are you trying to drive with it?

Re: Factory-style WK sub install

You'll want to take the rear speaker input to the factory amp rather than the output. It comes directly from the unit in the dash and is a full range signal. This will feed your sub amp. Whether you...

Re: SRT wheels with Terra Grapplers

It's actually timely that this thread got bumped. My UCAs are shot and I was considering getting the JBAs, but didn't know if they'd make clearance better or worse. It's sounding like they're a good...

Re: Song info in Driver Info Display?

Oh, I misunderstood. You guys actually have it better than us LX guys, then. The 2014 300 doesn't even display it on the main screen. I absolutely love my car, and the tech is far ahead of the 2010...

Re: Song info in Driver Info Display?

Chrysler decided to implement an old, outdated version of the AVRCP protocol that doesn't support metadata. I know this for a fact on the 8.4n in my 300. My Jeep is a WK so I can't say for sure what...

Re: SRT wheels with Terra Grapplers

I'm not running any spacers at all. I'm not sure if you'll be OK with the RC lift; I have the OME HD. I do have some rubbing at full lock, but I also need an alignment so I can't say how bad it...

Re: Factory-style WK sub install

I just tapped it off the power lead to the amp. I can't see any good reason to run two separate wires to the back if they're just going to be tied together at the battery anyway.

I had the turn...

Re: SRT wheels with Terra Grapplers

Hmmm, thought I was subscribed to this thread. Anyway, yes, they are staggered. If I had bought reps I wouldn't have gone that way, but got the complete set off an SRT so I worked with it.

As far...

Re: Factory-style WK sub install

I haven't had any issues with it. With 9.5V inputs and it crossed over pretty low, it doesn't even get warm. I had a probe attached to the heatsink for a while to keep an eye on it, and it basically...

Re: quick stereo question fellas

Is it the Boston system? The amp has an internal crossover that splits the front stage as far as I know. I believe only the rear doors get a full range (or close to it) signal.

Re: SRT wheels with Terra Grapplers

Like I said, I'll get some "glamour shots" once I finally get this thing cleaned up. I haven't had the time to get all OCD on it since I bought it, so it's long overdue.

Anyway, I snapped a few...

Re: SRT wheels with Terra Grapplers

Lifting it (something small like 2"-3") isn't going to noticeably hurt your fuel economy. Heavier tires/wheels, however, will.

Re: SRT wheels with Terra Grapplers

I'm glad I can be some help! It seemed like a lot of people were curious, so I figured I'd be the guinea pig and then share my experience.

I'm running the OME HD lift, which is supposed to be...

SRT wheels with Terra Grapplers

When I started researching running "off-road" tires on SRT wheels I found discussions on various forums, but couldn't find anyone who had actually done it. The original plan was to go with reps, but...

Re: More Bass In Stereo ??

The only real option for deep bass is to add a powered subwoofer. If you put woofers in the rear doors you're going to lose your midrange fill from the rear and you still won't get that deep bass...

Factory-style WK sub install

I was pretty happy with the Mopar Kicker speaker and amp upgrade, but I thought the system needed some help in the bass department. The Kicker sub was difficult to find and expensive for what it was,...

Re: Does anyone have the install instructions for the OME HD lift?

Obligatory first post

Hey everyone, I just joined and figured I'd make the standard "new guy" post.

I bought my first Jeep, a $350 rust bucket 88 XJ, in 2008 and replaced it in 2009 with a 99 XJ. It's made for a good...
