Re: Tranny temp with scangauge on 5.7

So, obviously you can program PID's into the Scangauge II?? How is that done? Is there a programming feature included with it? Reason I ask is I am wondering if I can figure out a way to reprogram my...

Re: Tranny temp with scangauge on 5.7

Don't know for sure with the Scangauge, but the DashHawk has a PID for trans. temp. Only problem is that it doesn't work properly with the 545RFE. It does work properly on my Hemi LX with the NAG1...

Re: LX or just a std WK?

A good exhaust shop should be able to adapt your stock 5.7 "Y" pipe to the LX manifolds. Without going out and looking under mine, IIRC the mids. are a little smaller diameter on the LX than the WK,...

Re: Tune Up

You'll be OK with the EGR Valve by doing as dmsfun says.

No, I was talking about not breaking the PCV Valve off in the housing. You'll see how easy it would be to break once you get the old one...

Re: Egr ?????

I've heard the yeas/neas too, and don't know for sure, but just because there is a port in the head doesn't mean there is an EGR valve. If there is no valve, the other end of that port in the head...

Re: Tune Up

You're right, not as easy (or fun) as the old iron. Your early Hemi uses the MAP Sensor without the bolt hole....if you can actually get one. The one with the bolt hole is for the later models, but...

Re: Tune Up

Looks like you're off to a good start.
1. Good choice
2. Or a Mobil 1 oil filter.
3. Consider a K & N or Trueflow filter element
4. Good choice. Be sure to torque them properly and DO NOT use...

Re: LX or just a std WK?

X2, but the LX's do have an all wheel drive version.....no control over it though. As Doc said, most everything on the engine is either the same or interchangeable....except the oil pan and oil pump...

Re: Transmission fluid check for 3.7

See my Post No. 3. IMO, unless you're going to use a $20 dipstick (that obviously doesn't work) all the time, I'd just spend $5 and get a 5 pack of 36 in. zip ties and use one out of the pack for...

Re: 5.7 Cracked Exhaust Manifold, Help!!

That's BS. This is another "shaft the customer" tactic by some shop. You don't have to remove the heads or the engine to remove the exhaust manifolds. Yes, it is tight in there, but it can be done...

The aftermarket sensors ARE NOT the problem. OE's will do the same thing. See my response to this in Posts No. 4 and 8 of this thread. Believe me, this will fix the problem.

I PM'ed Strongjeff about your issue. Here's what he had to say:

"well without really getting my hands on it, it's difficult to really say at 100%....

but I think that the cam is not the issue....

Re: No power

Not too likely it's the throttle body. Check for oil contamination behind the butterfly. If you have poor idle quality and/or stalling, there could be a problem with the idle air controller, again...

Have you checked for any DTC's? It could be lots of things, but if it's guzzling gas real bad, I'd look at the O2 Sensors. But first make sure all the other maintenance is up to date. If the vehicle...

Re: Srt swaybar to limited

I think you'll find that 2 1/2 in. piped duals will be a little large for a stock 5.7 Hemi. The stock size on my LX is 2 1/4 in. A friend of mine with a cammed, big headed 5.7 tried 2 1/2 in. and...

Re: SRT-8 Driveline swap
