Re: I know, i know the CRD shipped, but I could not wait anylonger...

Interesting that the tailgate fit is still an issue. i recall posting about this months ago. I even called Jeep to mention it. Apparently its still a problem.

Re: New '14 Overland Owner

I highly recommend "Zaino", which is mail order only. Start with a full washing with Dawn detergent to take off wax, etc. Use a blower to dry or deionizing water filter such as a CR Spotless as black...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

Just like me to ask something weird. You see, I like both trucks AND fast German cars. That's why I'm sticking with a 335xi for me and now encouraging the wife to get a JGC Overland. Much as I like...

Re: Front/Rear Parksense?

This, in part is why we passed on a 2014 Overland. They aren't even available as an option!

I called Jeep and spoke to a Rep, who said I am far from the first to complain about this. Maybe 2015...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

LOL! Never heard it put that way, but true.

I like other people's boats. No desire to own one at all, but I can see why some do. Life is all about choices. To some, even many, a boat is a "waste...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

Most SUVs are driven by women, it seems. Even Jeeps. I see more JSCs driven by women than not. Case in point: My wife wants one. Doesn't matter to me. I like them.

As for the X3 vs. 5 series- here...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

While we are quite past the stroller days, we still have a Sienna minivan which we'll keep for another year or two. The plan is to get an Overland in addition to the 335xi. We need another year of...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

Even though I ordered a 335xi, I rather doubt many females buy an X3 3.5 300hp twin turbo. I never considered this a "girl's car', not that I'd much care either way. Now, if we're talking a Lexus...

MARINE grade sta-bil is best

Since we have to use crap ethanol gas I'd use the blue-purple color "Marine" grade Sta-Bil. Add in a long term storage dose (I think its 1 oz to 5 gallons) and then an extra 20%. Run the vehicle to...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

LOL! But, you're right--that's about as far "off road" as most Jeeps get.

I readily admit that I wouldn't take a 50K vehicle too far off road. Why would I get one? Because I like the fact that it...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

Getting a good deal is important to most of us, me included. Off roading may or may not be in the blood, but are you really going to take your new 50K diesel Overland into the brush and rocks? We...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

This is SO true. It would be best to buy a 3 year old car & keep it forever.

Such would also be immensely dull. I could also eat mac & cheese every day, wear clothing from the Salvation Army and...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

The problem, of course, is finding a reliable, honest and up to date on your brand's technology private mechanic. Brakes/oil, etc are one thing. Complicated electronics quite another.

Ever hear...

Re: Why is Quadra Drive only available with the V8 & Diesel?

I recall the old 4.7 L V8 had QDII--and a far less powerful engine than the current V6. Don't know why the axles/driveshafts, etc wouldn't share parts commonality. Would seem to make sense that they...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

I'm OK with slower times in a truck. Ruled out the SRT due to price, abysmal fuel economy and near zero off road ability.

Don't understand why diesel is more expensive in the US as a rule. I...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

This video is on the PREVIOUS generation X3 which went from 2003-2010--a far, far different (and much worse) model. Not an apples to apples comparison.

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

From what I've read on various car magazine sites, the diesel has somewhat lackluster 0-60 times of around 7.5-7.8, which isn't all that much faster than the V6. Once one gets used to sub 5 second...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

EXACTLY! Leasing is, of course, a waste of money. But, so long as I live 80% responsibly I have no issue with 20% for "fun". Keeping within the 20% is why I passed on the 5 series.

I still like...

Re: Still can't decide: Overland or BMW X3

For now, we are getting another 335xi (a 2014) and...

Re: Frustrated with Summit color options

Precisely why we ruled out a Summit as well. "Poop Brown" and black aren't choices.

Add in the inability to get the 18" wheel/skidplate package & the Summit was doomed.

Re: Overland vs. Limited w/ Nav, Luxury, Tow & Off road group: What are the differenc
