Re: Sales - v6 vs hemi vs diesel?

Seeing as how the diesel costs WAY more than the V-6 at first, sure, it had better bring something on the back end. As to how much, we'll see. Maybe a little bit. Maybe it's even. Maybe it will be...

Re: Sales - v6 vs hemi vs diesel?

Well, since I'm the one who quoted numbers with actual math, I guess you're calling me clueless. Not sure how that washes, since I actually, you know, RAN THE NUMBERS.

I used the highway EPA...

Re: Sales - v6 vs hemi vs diesel?

The only reason to buy the diesel in the GC is for efficiency while towing. If not towing, save the money, get the V-6... it's quicker and far cheaper than the diesel, less troublesome in very low...

Re: TIPM Recall

It's not unusual for dealers to now know of the recall. While it's been "announced," it hasn't officially started yet. That's in another couple weeks or so. It may be a little bit yet before the...

Re: TIPM Recall

Congratulations. I didn't bother.

It's a vehicle they make by the thousands, NOT a museum piece. If it works, it works. Would a new TIPM have been nice? Sure, but I'm not going to hold my breath....

Re: TIPM Recall

That may depend on the dealer. My guess is that as the recall gets publicized and performed, the new TIPM to fix this will be a thing of the past. It will be all grafted on relays. I speculate that...

Re: And yet another JEEP recall announced today

It's in the TIPM. Replacing the entire TIPM with the revised one solves the problem, but the recall is just to jumper a new relay outside the TIPM. That's the fix they did to mine this week- you can...

Re: Starting problems

Just heard from my dealer today. It is indeed the TIPM relay... they're going to install the relay kit instead of the whole new TIPM.

I'm wondering if the relay vs. whole new module may just...

I just dropped mine off at the dealer tonight for this.

Re: 2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee & Dodge Durango RECALL - about 800,000 SUVs

This could explain something I've been noticing the last 2-3 weeks. When starting the vehicle lately the brake pedal is EXTREMELY firm- almost like the vacuum in the booster has leaked out. It's not...

Re: First world issue: AWY or AWB on '14 Overland with V8 or CRD?

T'were I to do it again I'd get the off road package. I had the plates installed and put the tow hooks on myself but am still rocking the 20" rims. When I replaced the tires there was exactly one...

Re: Do Not install 2.404 & 2013 map updates

Well, that at least explains why I haven't seen any traffic updates on my system since the update.

Crap on a cracker.

I like the new maps more than I need the traffic updates, so I'll stick...

There's also temperature considerations.

Re: wheels without TPS?

You have the V-6 according to your profile, and therefore you do NOT have the HD brakes (those are V-8 only). 17" rims should fit. I went with 18" rims on mine just to be sure and I don't remember...

Re: Design flaws?

That's never been an issue for me at all. Can't say I think it's a flaw.

If you want a list of design flaws, there's a pretty comprehensive list of TSBs out there... that's a good place to start.

Re: Why no 20"s on the Off Road Adventure Group II ?

That's going to be a trick. A 50 series sidewall just doesn't offer much protection... taking a 20" rimmed WK2 off roading would basically be screaming aloud for a blown tire and busted rim on...

Most of that would go pretty quick. The road test would take the longest, but even then I imagine you're talking an hour or so of time per vehicle (depending on outstanding recalls/RRTs).

If...

Re: Accelleration in the v8 vs v6

I believe the rotors are the same size, but the calipers on the V8 models are larger (which is why 17" rims won't fit on a Hemi-equipped WK2).

Re: Is the V-6 the best handling?

Best handling would likely be a V-6 RWD for weight reasons. However, if we're talking 4x4s, then the higher trim levels (with QTII or QDII) would be the ones to go with thanks to the Sport mode (with...

Re: Feel road in steering

Ditto.

If you want to exorcise any road feel, switching to the 18" rims will help (the extra sidewall will filter out the small bumps). Beyond that, I might recommend something that says "Buick"...

Re: Tire Inflation With Nitrogen

The superlight elements like H and He would probably leak out of the tires relatively quickly due to the size of the atoms/molecules.

Ditto. I figure the 22% difference more than makes up for it by providing a far wider variety of places to top off the tires without having to go to the dealer.
