Re: Anyone have a successful buy back?

Well - to close on this - it took me until this afternoon to actually hand over the keys and pick up my check. Damn that took a long time. The process wasn't especially painful, but the delays were...

Re: Anyone have a successful buy back?

I started by returning the card that was included with my manual. I followed up with a phone call to Customer support to let them know it was coming.

Re: Anyone have a successful buy back?

I suffer from automotive ADD, so the logical (?) next step is getting a 2015 Chevy SS with a stick shift.

Re: Anyone have a successful buy back?

Yep. I think my frustration overload with the issue of unreliability has made me fall out of love with the car. That's a damn shame - it's a great car - but it just doesn't give me the warm fuzzy...

Re: Anyone have a successful buy back?

Wow - that sucks. I understand they're limited by your state's laws for the procedure they have to follow. Washington seems to be one of the best in that regard.

Re: Anyone have a successful buy back?

It's been about two and a half weeks since the rep agreed to the buy back. I was told to expect the transfer next week at some time.

I can't wait to get my new toy!

Re: Anyone have a successful buy back?

I must say, the least painful part of my Jeep ownership has been the buy back. :) I sent in my letter to Chrysler and heard back a few days later acknowledging receipt. A few days after that I...

Re: Climate Control Question

Yep - a problem on all MGs. On my 65 Midget we only used the heater core in case of massive overheating. :) It was pretty much useless for getting heat into the cabin.

Hell, in all fairness to...

Re: Trees are evil

I finally got the Jeep back after about 40 days in the body shop! Let me preface the rest of this post with this: I am extremely anal retentive!

I just got the same message along with 'service active headlight' system (or something along those lines) after getting my car back from the body shop on Friday. I guess I'll have the body shop deal...

Re: Rejuvenated a set of used Mopar wheels

Nice job!

I wash my pads mid job all the time to keep them clear. I just wash then spin them on high for a bit. Sometimes I hit it with some compressed air too to speed things up. A little...

Re: Detailing

You're right that it normally doesn't quite do the job without either quite a bit of time or a higher pressure from the gun. That said, if you have a good sealant or coating over well prepped paint...

Re: Can power seat's cushion angle be mechanically modified?

I haven't seen anyway to do that.

How do you feel about visiting an upholstery shop to have the foam cut and the leather tucked? We do stuff like that all the time in the motorcycle world.

Re: Trees are evil

The property owner is the City of Seattle. I'll let my insurance company deal with them. 😃

I agree with everyone's sentiment that it could have been a lot worse. It was intense to say the least.

Trees are evil

Let this be a lesson to us all: Trees are not to be trusted and should all be cut down to protect our precious SFUs!

Watch the top of the screen for the impending doom that I missed.

Re: Significant oil leak

I just used some florescent oil dye on a buddy's truck and we were able to pinpoint the leak in under a minute. Give it a shot- it cost under $20.

Re: Anyway to stop this?

If you go to the lights section of the uConnect setup page you'll see an option to uncheck the 'lights flash with lock/unlock'. I think that should fix it for you.

I had the same thing happen to me. The most plausible explanation I heard was that since I was overdue for an oil change the system wouldn't allow a regen to happen.

It's actually back in the...

Re: Does the DPF regen system make Diesel unusable as a full time work vehicle?

Wait - what? Regen was bypassed just because of the oil life reminder? That might explain what happened to me too. Is that by design? Seems like it would cause a bunch of dealer visits.
