Re: 2015 Side Panel Road Rash...3 season tires???

Here are the pics from my splash guard thread. I went as minimalistic as I could. Said another way, I decided how much flap "reveal" I could live with. The front may not be quite low enough, but I...

Re: 2015 Side Panel Road Rash...3 season tires???

I was gonna do the same, but the paint is peppered already. So, I did the splash guard thing.

Next SRT or Hellcat hopefully, I will have the sides wrapped in conjunction with some kind of...

Re: 2015 Side Panel Road Rash...3 season tires???

That's where my damage is most prevalent too. The factory protective film already looks awful with only 2900 miles on the clock!!!

I did manage to install some custom splash guards I think I can...

2015 Side Panel Road Rash...3 season tires???

I have the Pirellli P zeros, and they are absolutely sand blasting/chipping my lower sides of my SRT. I don't travel on gravel or terrible roads. It seems the sticky tire compound will pick up...

I agree. After getting my reigning garage queen, the GT500, with 5K miles after 3 years, I promised myself NO more garage queens!!!!!

So, I'm tackling the world with the SRT, and taking some...

No doubt! It seems everytime I'm in the SRT, or Shelby, all I do is dodge 18 wheelers or friggin dump trucks!!!

Re: Custom Splash Guard Solution.

+1 on the film. My wife's GC has a "clear bra", and it's definitely working, as she rolls up 25K per year, and a lot of that is on the interstate.

And the clear film is working on my SRT. I know...

LOL, yeah, I knew SGs are a hot button!

My spray pattern, and eyeballing the stock wide tires, IMO, indicated the "missiles" were coming from the side of the OE fender flares (if you will LOL). ...

Re: Buzzing after Shut Off

It's the DEF system doing it's thing post shut down. First time we heard it in the garage it sounded like our alarm keypad beeping in the house.

Lol, I do agree the Pentastar is anemic at times. But even after banging around in my 700 HP Shelby, my 2wd Pentastar is still very smooth and feels great on the road!

Re: Diesel reliability for short trips

Arguably a tough duty cycle on any engine for many reasons. I just feel the diesel won't even get thoroughly warmed up. IF that driving duty cycle doesn't lead to more active regens, I don't know...

Re: Diesel reliability for short trips

You are correct. We won't get an EVIC message for a normal regen. The EVIC only warns if the DPF is getting too "clogged".

OP, I would consider the gas V6 for ur purposes, unless of course, you...

Re: Engine Idling

It would be nice for the GC to idle after "cutoff" if it was needed. My Ram could be programmed to do just that, with an aftermarket tune.

Re: Diesel reliability for short trips

You mean you haven't had a DPF message from the EVIC?

Re: Diesel reliability for short trips

Given your driving habits, no doubt you'll get the DPF warning. As long as you can put in some highway miles, the DPF will regen ok.

As much as I love our diesel, if I was in your situation, and...

Re: For anyone thinking about opticoat

If I remember, it's about $70 or so, and I would recommend watching several youtube videos on the application. It's not rocket science, but you don't want to leave "high" spots on the paint.

Re: GC vs Land Cruiser vs Range Rover

It amuses me seeing several refer to how fast, or slow, a GC is, or if will win a drag race. I'm all about power too, no doubt, but I've just never seen a regular GC as a "drag racer".

However,...

Re: WK2: 1, Toyota: 0.

My 2500 Ram/Cummins 4x4 would not go through that in 2wd with the stock "onions" either. Now with Toyo MTs, it's impressive in the red VA. clay!

Re: Arrrgghhh! Beaten by a rav 4!

I saw a review in which a V6 Rav4 scampered to 60 in 6.3 seconds. Power to weight is in play as well.

You're gonna have your work cut out for ya on that one.

Re: GC vs Land Cruiser vs Range Rover

For me, other than inclement weather, I don't really care too much about off roading in a GC, or RRS. There is no way on God's green Earth, I'm going wheeling on my 55k+ SUV!! LOL
