Re: Off Road 18"s

I don't think staying out of the lowest ride height setting is going to be a solution, if you are using it off road there are plenty if situations where the suspension will be sitting on the bump...

Re: Oil filter availability

In Australia we are starting to see aftermarket oil filters, a filter company by the name of Wesfil now has filter for the Ecodiesel at around 1/3 the price of the OEM filter.

Re: CRD oil on special

Thanks for the feedback, the OEM Mopar filter is made in China for Mopar so doubt the quality would be very different. Does the Wesfil filter comes with the oil for the filter body?

I will...

While on the topic of oil, I have recently spotted some aftermarket filters available locally for our Diesel GC from Wesfil (Oil Filter WCO163).

I know there was a recent price hike with the OEM...

Re: 12v AGM oem battery replacement

I am 99% sure the type of battery is group49 such as this

9AGM49 (http://www.federalbatteries.com.au/9AGM49/)

Still not cheap though (~$360).

However I have noticed two...

Re: Whats your take on the trans with this diesel?

I have 3 comments about the transmission, apart from these I think it is a great transmission.

2, The engine...

Re: 8 speed transmission behavior

Ok I think I have worked this out at least with kick down. When in paddle shift mode the transmission will ONLY kick down if the engine rpm is at 2000 or under with the currently selected gear.

Re: 8 speed transmission behavior

For me I would like the ability to hold the gear so that I can use the low-end torque of the turbo diesel instead of it kicking down.

Lets just say I would like some baseline. However the inability for the lock the transmission in a a particular gear is going to make wheel dyno'ing difficult.

Re: Best wax over sealant??

I would put my vote for Meguiar's Ultimate wax. It is easy to apply, ie no swirl marks, does not mark plastics, etc and last for a long time.

Re: 8 speed transmission behavior

So it looks like the diesel transmission is programmed differently to the V6. It will not hold gear in paddle / manual mode in ECO, non ECO or sport mode which is a little bit disappointing!

Yes WOT is wide open throttle, I guess it is a bit misleading as mechanically there is no real throttle in a diesel engine. Maybe I should just call it "flooring it" :)

There seems to be a bit of confusion with the oil filter for the diesel. The diesel oil filter has NOT changed from pre MY14 to MY14 and the part number is 68109834AA.

Refer is here.
