Re: Check engine light

Did it occur while you were linked to the ODB2. I accidentally set my Scanguage II to the wrong scanbus protocol and it caused that same code. I corrected my setting and cleared the code and didn't...

Re: 2012 3.6l Rev over 4000?

I'm impressed. So does the transmission hold up to being slammed in gear at 4 grand??? That's brutal.

Also, if your motor can't get above 2300 rpm with power breaking, maybe a higher stall...

Are you seriously doing either of these things to your vehicle???

Re: 2012 3.6l Rev over 4000?

So you can slam it in gear and burn rubber. Haven't you done that on your dad's car?....lol.

This is one reason why we don't get a 100k powertrain warranty on all vehicles!

My SRT can do better...LOL! Seriously, that's awesome. I drive a 14 EcoDiesel also....just wish I had an SRT.

Re: Tuning your EcoDiesel

I've read that they only test for greenhouse gas emissions, not particulate content. They may visually inspect the DPF but a gutted DPF is visually undetectable.

Re: Max Boost?

AMR,

Thanks for the info. 23 psi at 3400 rpm is a healthy boost. Mine isn't getting there for some reason. I guess I'll drive it for a while and see if a few regen events don't clear it up.

Re: Max Boost?

Thanks AMR. My Cat Temps are running a bit higher than I recall and boost seems lower. I hope my DPF isn't partially obstructed! Back pressure in the exhaust affects turbo performance and creates...

Re: Max Boost?

Mine will go above 18 at high load low rpm but at 3k rpm and above it won't exceed mid 18 psi.

Does yours hold 20+ through the rpm range at WOT?

Max Boost?

What is the maximum boost you guys are seeing? I checked mine at WOT today on a 0-60 run and 18.5 psi is all I'm seeing. Seems low in comparison to other turbodiesels which produce 22-25 psi stock....

Re: Official post your mpg's.

I average 30 mpg hwy/23 city...27 avg on the EVIC most of the time. I can do better if I try.

I think that's normal. Its just a visual cue to draw your attention to the EVIC. I will look at mine today and confirm.

Re: 784 miles, 13 hours, 20.5mpg

FYI...it has been mentioned that the EVIC calculates mpg on a rolling 300 mile average. So your mpg are an average of the last 300 miles. On the Ecodiesel, we have a 700 mile range so the EVIC may...

Re: Tuning your EcoDiesel

Re: Tuning your EcoDiesel

On a mechanically stock diesel, adding fuel is all you can do, tuning or otherwise. Of course the timing of when you add fuel is important. The turbo makes more boost because you add more fuel. You...

Re: Straight pipe exhaust

IMO needing back pressure on a turbo, especially a diesel, is a myth. However, maintaining proper boost on a gasser is important since the fuel mixture ratio must be right to avoid damage. Proper...

Re: Does Jeep sell spill proof DEF bottles?

All the big trucks use DEF. All truck stops have high turnover on their diesel. I bet the bottled DEF is older and we know its more expensive. I've haven't spilled a drop yet.

Re: Does Jeep sell spill proof DEF bottles?

Now THAT is a pain in the butt. Not knowing the level would create an overfill situation. If I had a TDI, I think I'd rather use the DEF pump at a truck stop to fill my trunk tank and trust it to...

Re: Towing MPG's

A diesel engine helps tremendously. Gas engines operate outside of their efficiency curve when towing, diesels do not. :)

Re: Fuel leak at motor with 280 miles.

A newly installed injector with a crack is not unheard of. I know the Duramax guys had a batch like this. So far, this is the only one I've heard of with the VM3.0.

There's a video of an EcoDiesel GC at 126 mph posted somewhere earlier on this forum. 240 HP is enough to get you there. The tires are the reason it is speed limited.

Its ok to interrupt an active regen that does not show an EVIC message. If you don't have an ODBII device to monitor exhaust temperature, you won't know you are interrupting anything. It happens all...

The transmission used with the diesel is the same one used in the V8 Grand Cherokee and Dodge Ram 1500 with Hemi. It is much stronger than most transmissions found in other vehicles of similar size....
