Re: 4-Wheel Drive System on Summit Question.

You need the V8 for ELSD because the differential doesn't fit on the V6 drivetrain, it has nothing to do with horsepower or torque (so I'm told), it's a mechanical issue.

QTII is more than...

Re: If you were to give up your GC today, what would you get?

To be honest, they sure do hide this well. When you mentioned it, I did a lot of crawling around on the web to find out more.

But on their website, beyond the Off Road package (which talks of a 2...

Re: 11k miles and blown Transmission

That's good news. I'd consider that a feature, not a bug.

Great that it's only an oil change and a detail of the engine compartment than a transmission.

Re: Welp...RWD Grand Cherokee's are basically useless off road

Yea, the 4x2's don't bother me. Also being in OC, what does bother me is seeing all the Mercedes G Series, knowing full well the only way the dust is coming off the 3 locking diff switches is when...

Re: Uconnect subscriptions

Well I'll just chime is that subscription or no, the 9-1-1 should work.

As I understand it, 9-1-1 works from any cell phone, activated or not, plan or not. All it needs is power and a compatible...

Re: Welp...RWD Grand Cherokee's are basically useless off road

The Mini is lighter than the JGC. Being FWD, the Mini has a bit more weight over the drive wheels (a key reason FWD does well is slippery conditions). Also, the Mini, being FWD, can turn the wheels...

My Mechanical Engineer father basically convinced me that if the oil pressure was up to spec (which it is almost immediately), you're good to go.

Re: Quadra-Drive II vs Quadra-Track II

As far as "using the system as a crutch", the system IS a crutch, and it's meant to be used. That's why we have them. That doesn't mean you shouldn't drive intelligently, but you should be doing that...

Am I dreaming? Is this thing on? Strange honks at night.

So, couple of nights ago, I could swear that I heard what sounds like my '14 JGC Ltd honk 6 times. Twice. I can't say how far apart, I went back to sleep and didn't note the time. I was asleep both...

Re: Quadra Lift Air Suspension Failure

Just guessing, but part of the issue is when the QL system fails, it's pretty abrupt and has a large impact, since it's a single system that potentially affects the entire vehicle.

Where as...

Perhaps unrelated, something I've not seen much up here, but seems common on the vehicles in Australia, is a small pole on the left front corner (for us, it would be the right front corner).

Is...

Re: Show off your key ring

It even still has the "drop in any mailbox" tag thing on it (though it's probably not...

Re: 2004 trail rated

I can't speak to Liberty's, but not all Jeeps get "Trail Rated".

A 4x2 Summit is most certainly not "Trail Rated".

On the GCs, Trail Rated is basically a 4x4 with skid plates and tow hooks.

But that's the boggle of it. Why can't the first click of the two clicks wake it up like the one click of the unlock button?

Makes no sense.

There's some subtle timing problem underlying this I...

Re: If you were to give up your GC today, what would you get?

If I didn't have this Jeep, I'd likely have a new Explorer. I would have swapped out my old one for a new one. I didn't because the new Explorer is nowhere near as capable as the JGC is. In fact,...

Re: How much was a wj brand new

For some perspective.

According to The Inflation Calculator (http://www.westegg.com/inflation/) which is an inflation calculator.

$34,415 in 1999 dollars is equivalent to $47,558 in 2013.

Re: If Ford ever did this, Jeep would be forced to up their QC

Re: If Ford ever did this, Jeep would be forced to up their QC
