Re: New Member - Help needed on buying 08-09 SRT8

If you plan on modding the Jeep, I would recommend a 06 model. The computer on the 06 is more accepting of mods, especially headers and high flow cats. The 06 is the only year that can pass smog...

Re: 06 SRT 8 in the Snow?

The Extreme contact DWS are NOT a winter tire, they are an all season tire Dry Wet Snow. They actually have the DWS molded into the tread so as they wear they go from snow to wet to dry only.

Re: 06 SRT 8 in the Snow?

Just go with the Conti Extreme contact DWS tires in the 275/315 Combo. They work Excellently in the snow, look cool, and are affordable to boot! Oh they also stick like glue in the dry, WAY better...

Well, no pics but an update on the DWS tires, THEY ROCK!! The Jeep is so much more sure footed in the snow compared to the Lattitude HPs it is like a different vehicle all together. When I first...

Re: Leather Wrapped Dashboard and Footrest.

The leather Instrument cluster bezel was an option on the 09 and 2010 SRT8s. I remember there was a 09 at Naperville CDJ that had that option package. The 06-07 export models came with the leather...

Re: Rumor I "heard" tonight

While I like the look of the centered exhaust on my SRT, I would give it up to have a spare tire, trailer hitch, and a clear rear window in the cold. I notice that the exhaust seems to flow up the...

What he said. I painted the housings, and night shaded the amber reflectors so the side marker lights still work.

Re: Needin a bath, but murdered FINALLY

It is the basic law of supply and demand. There is no where near the demand for a Jeep hood as there is for a Charger/Challenger/Camaro/Mustang hood, so they have to recoup the R&D expense over a...

Re: Suggestions on changing oil in the SRT8

I've been told that 20-50 is a huge no-no in the 5.7 and 6.1 Motors, both by the SRT engineers, and my machinist. the 0-40 is not just for fuel economy or the tight bearing clearances, the 5.7 and...
