Re: So who needs a starscan tool when you can get this....

There's a guy with a diesel WK, tnadanzig, on the forums who has AutoEnginuity. That's the only person I know of who has used it on this platform but I'm sure there are others. You could probably PM...

Re: What did you do to your WK today?

Okay cool so he sanded it also? Yours is almost as bad as mine but mines actually deteriorating on top so I wonder if that would take care of it. How'd you take the steering wheel off? Looks great!

245/70r17 is an inch bigger in diameter over stock. I run that size on my WK and have no problems, absolutely no rubbing. Neither should you. It looks great and is perfect if you don't want to lift...

Re: Upper Control Arms from Rocky Road Outfitters

JBA has recently changed their design so the knuckle doesn't hit. IMO, JBA is the better of the two. I heard the RRO one uses KJ Liberty ball joints whereas the the JBA one uses Hummer H2 (I think)...

Re: Strength of 545rfe

I can't tell you about the strength of the 545FRE but the NAG1 should mate up to the NV245 transfer case as I have that exact set up on my CRD (Diesels came with the NAG1 and NV245). The computers...

Re: Back in a Jeep! Deciding where to start.

If you don't mind a little MPG hit, I'd take off the front airdam. IMO, it looks much better with it off on the 05-07 WKs. Also, hard to tell how far away the tire and bolt are in that picture, but...

Re: Rim Size?

16" rims will not fit due to caliper clearance, unless you want them to stick out really far. Also, smaller rims won't result in less ground clearance, that all depends on what size tire you mount to...

A 15" rim definitely will not fit. And ChrisWK, if you have 4wd, the tire has to be the same overall diameter.

Re: what kind of diff do I have lol

Do you have a 3.7 V6? If so, then you have 3:07s. If you have a V8 or CRD with low range, you have 3:73s. QTII uses brake traction control to function like lockers. QDII has ELSDs which provide full...

Re: spacer lift plus a suspension lift?

Re: WK Advice

Also something to look out for- 2009-2010 Hemis got a power bump and VVT. Could be a deal breaker for you if it comes down to a 2008 vs 2009. 2008+ WKs got a new front fascia, HID option, and...

Yes that is true, they will lock in 4-Hi. I think you have to have ESP turn fully off for them to lock, though I could be wrong.

Re: v8 or v6? Which is a better choice overall?

If you're getting a gasser, definitely get the Hemi or a 2008+ 4.7 IMO.

And let's just clear this up for the last time:
WK (2005-2010) V6 = 3.7
WK2 (2011+) V6 = 3.6 Pentastar.

Completely...

Yeah you could do that. You don't have that many miles on you Jeep, but it would suck to have to disassemble for new struts after 10,000ish more miles. If it were me, I'd save so more money and do it...

You still have a bit of time left on your shocks, but I'd recommend replacing them with Bilstein still. I payed about $310 for all four.

Re: v8 or v6? Which is a better choice overall?

I think this is true for the WK2, but there is a much bigger difference between the 3.7 and the 4.7 or 5.7 for the WK1 in terms of power but not that much difference in terms of MPG.
