Re: DEF INJECTOR and Harness protection group buy

I have been using fototime for image hosting for maybe a decade or more, it allows me to post an image without any adverts or extra crud and they don't make things searchable because they are a...

Re: DEF INJECTOR and Harness protection group buy

No, I have the armor and rock rails and they don't cover it. In this photo the factory rock rails are at the top. I have the OA2 package too and it does nothing for this afterthought of diesel...

Re: Navigation Issues

I have it on for the broad view of traffic information, but the autozoom makes it useless for that while simultaneously providing traffic. This is a feature Garmin got right ten years ago, when I am...

The voice recognition repeats things back to me in English pronunciation and then the addresses are read out in American. The recognition is done elsewhere, not in the car. Part of the reason it's so...

Re: Jeep reliability dead last in Consumer Reports

I drive my diesel in SF a few times a week and have zero issues with the transmission behaving oddly. Most of the time it isn't even worth using manual or sports modes. The only exception is my...

Re: Jeep reliability dead last in Consumer Reports

I have had my Jeep about 4 months and well over 13000 miles now. I have not had any mechanical or electrical problems. If you exclude the Nav system. So if that is most of the issues then I think...

Re: DEF INJECTOR and Harness protection group buy

I just paid up too. We were no more than lucky that I didn't rip the DEF injector off when driving down scrub covered roads in Nevada or over the rocks in the Sierras. Jeep really dropped the ball on...

Re: MOPAR Rock Rails Installed - Picture Laden

Reading through all this I seem to have got a good deal from Walnut Creek Jeep, $1200 installed. $750 for the rails and $450 installation. I bought the JGC there so I got the customer deal. They were...

Re: Gender of your JGC?

I'm not French so I don't give inanimate objects a gender. It's my car. That's it. I don't even call it a truck, it doesn't have a load bed. If I am talking to the deal it's my grand cherokee.

Re: Grand Cherokee Shocks

I find my 2014 diesel limited with OA2 wallows over undulations. Shocks provide the damping that stops that sort of thing, they are the major element of ride feel. My Eibach Pro equipped Passat was...

Re: Had it with the Active Braking

Typically I get the FCW freakout when a car around 50-75 yards ahead in a relatively low speed area, 30-50, exits the road on the right. The ACC tends to take its time realizing someone has moved out...

I use CoPilot on my Samsung Galaxy S5. I just asked it to route me from here in Alameda CA to Halifax NS and it took two seconds to calculate the 2800 mile route, and an alternate. I paid about $50...

Re: Navigation Issues

That's just not true. This thousand dollar system is not as good as CoPilot on Android which cost something like $35. The auto zoom is abysmal and the time predictions aren't near as good as Garmin...

Re: 2013 GC Rust.....Jeez!

Angry Had it with the Active Braking

I find the active braking and the pre-panic braking linked to the FCW to be dangerous at the very least. At 6'3" and not being a lightweight I have no problem stamping on the brakes however hard I...

I said it is like TomTom, it is always zoomed in too far to be useful. But it doesn't do as much as TomTom, so I doubt they are to blame. But it certainly isn't Garmin. Back in 2013 model year...

This navigation system is certainly NOT Garmin. I have used every major Garmin release since they first had rudimentary maps on the GPS III and V and this is not it.

For me the worst of this is...

Do the MOPAR rock rails cover the DEF injector?

And if they don't is the DEF cover compatible with them?

Running the DEF harness under the body like that, without protection, seems ludicrously careless for a "trail rated" vehicle.

I will be...

Re: Music people: uConnect confusion- help plz

Yes, you have to buy decent ones. I wouldn't consider the cheapest ones.

PNY Turbo 3 128GB drives claim up to 130MB/s write speeds. But I'd be very surprised if they could achieve that in the long...

Re: Music people: uConnect confusion- help plz

USB1 was rated at 12Mb/s, USB2 is 480MB/s, USB 3 is 5GB/s but most devices can't do anything like that. The highest rate needed for music is 320kbps, but finding what's there is the hard part....

Re: Music people: uConnect confusion- help plz

A decent 128GB thumb drive is $50 on Amazon. For this use the internal drives and iPods aren't keeping up with the times.

Re: Music people: uConnect confusion- help plz

I use an old 160GB 6th generation iPod from around 2007. It has about 12500 tracks and a bunch of books. That pre-dates the Touch. The system in the 2014 Grand Cherokee had zero problems with that....
