Re: TSB Country Codes

Canada would be NAFTA = North American Free Trade Agreement.

EMEA = Europe, Middle East, Africa
LATAM = Latin America
APAC = Asia Pacific

Re: Is it Normal to be told to wait a month to check a check engine light?

Get a cheap OBD-II reader and find out what the code is.

Most non-blinking CEL issues are OK to drive with, though they might point to a problem that, if it gets worse, could leave you stranded..

Re: 2016 PUG 6 cylinder

Yup, higher octane (resistance to detonation) but much less energy per unit volume (what moves the vehicle).

Had a chat with a powertrain engineer at the old Newark DE plant when one of the last...

Re: mis-fire codes but does not mis-fire

Another possibility is a clogged catalytic converter, though I don't know how you'd test for that.. excess back pressure can cause a misfire..

Re: Engine oil #2 (full synthetic)

I'm not a lubrication engineer, but the sum total of what I've heard is that you have to worry about both mileage and time..

If you run low mileage because you only do half a dozen long trips...

And now for an opposing viewpoint:

FIrst, Diesel exhaust is incredibly bad. Back maybe 15 years ago I was working for a company that made equipment for aerosol particle measurement..

Re: Oil drain bolt frozen in oil pan!

have you tried a good impact wrench on it?

I've had many experiences where a breaker bar would snap a bolt, but an impact would buzz it off with no problem.

Re: Navigation is being activated

I don't think it has to do with the "signal we're all receiving" ..

I'm betting on a bug in the code that is (after all is said and done) time-related.. the gps system is completely based on time,...

Re: Navigation is being activated

Dunno if I buy this. IIRC my 8.4AN will navigate even in places where there is zero cell service.. without cell service there is no way for the unit to talk to Google.

Re: Winter Weather Tire Recommendations

In Newport RI you really don't need fully awesome winter tires.

I have run LTX MS on past vehicles, I just cast my lot with the LTX MS2 on my '14. We'll see how they play this winter.

I have...

Re: Cleaning Light Scratches On Front Windshield

Re: Towing Small Horse Trailer

You said your GC does not have the factory tow package, correct?

If so, your official limit is 3500lb. Bolting on a hitch doesn't change that limit.

Re: AC Compressor Does't start WJ 02

That is definitely one of the AC pressure switches. I don't know the WJ so I don't know which one.

You'll need to replace it. Not knowing the WJ, I don't know if you have to drain the AC system...

Re: Power consumption when vehicle is off

Re: I can only imagine how much this will cost.

I can see how this could happen.

"white" LEDs aren't really White LEDs.

They are violet or UV LEDs, which excite a phosphor that emits the "white" light (this is similar to how 'old school'...

Re: Recommendations for a UHF CB Radio

Coming from some experience in 440MHz Ham Radio ops:

High-gain antennas get their gain by squeezing the pattern toward the vehicle horizon. This probably isn't what you want on the trail.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee problems with 10 miles

Meaning: It doesn't do anybody any good to "just fix it". ...
