Re: Towing with 2004 grand cherokee

You're going to need some form of weight distributing system. There are a bunch of different options and I would Google them to find what you want. Basically, it's a system that's going to keep the...

Re: Which ones the best lift kit?

With new shocks does the 2.5" lift still ride rough? Or does new shocks make it feel more like stock? I would like to get a 2.5" lift for my Jeep, but I'm afraid the bad ride is from the heavier...

Re: How To: Replace Crankshaft Position Sensor

I'm glad you got it all figured out and fixed. It's good to know that people are using this guide and it's working.

Re: Will not start

I don't think you can just jumper the sensor. The Jeep is looking for a pulse to tell it the location of the crank and cam. If you jumper it, then the sensor is telling the Jeep that the crank/cam is...

Re: Which ones the best lift kit?

I believe (but may be wrong) that the Rusty's and Fat Bob's Garage 2.5" lifts are the same. My buddy bought the Fat Bob's Garage 2.5" lift with the base shocks and I planned on doing the same once my...

Re: Best Replacement Front CV Joint?

I got the CV joint in the mail and changed it out tonight. Then I wanted to watch football and it's sitting on the bench finished, just need to install the driveshaft. Talk about a greasy messy job....

Re: Lock Circuit Diagram

I agree man, I wish it was as simple as just a switch. If I find out it's the switch in the driver's door module, I'm going to try to find a way in without breaking everything. It's something like...

Re: Lock Circuit Diagram

I believe (though I haven't pulled the door apart to check) the module is a solid piece. On the driver's door the switch is inside the entire door module and you cannot get to the switch itself. If I...

Does anyone have a wiring diagram of lock/unlock circuit?

Re: Best Replacement Front CV Joint?

Awesome, that's what I want to hear. I wish I put that few kilometers on my Jeep. You put 65k km in 3.5 years. I put on 110k km in that same time frame.

Re: Best Replacement Front CV Joint?

How many miles do you have on your new CV joint and has it shown any signs of wear? If Dorman makes decent replacement joints, I'll get one ordered so I can stop driving around with 1 drive shaft....

Best Replacement Front CV Joint?

I'm not sure about CV joints. Everything I've ever done is standard u-joints. But I'm going to assume what's below is bad as the end of the boot isn't actually connected to anything....

Re: Question on pricing vs blue book

In my area KBB with 90k miles, every option, and excellent condition was $6k. If he's asking $4k over that, I cannot imagine paying that much for a 14 year old vehicle with the base model engine,...

Parking Brake Clunk?

Over the past 1-2 years I've been chasing a clunk/rattle in the back half of the Jeep. It mostly happens when driving down rough gravel roads or paved roads with a bunch of uneven patches. It doesn't...

Re: Why my lug nuts backing off?

If they come lose after being torqued to 120 then I would be baffled also. I torque mine to 110 and they sit fine. It's odd that all 20 of the lug nuts are coming loose. If it was just one wheel I...

Re: 42RE Transmission Fluid Change

Yeah, any automatic transmission work goes to a specialist for me. I've rebuilt manual transmissions, but those are easy and simple. Automatics, I just write a check. :D

Re: 42RE Transmission Fluid Change

I would have to estimate a 4-6 inch diameter.

The material on the magnet looked like a grey paste. I assumed it was clutch material. I guess I'll run it until it breaks and needs fixed.

42RE Transmission Fluid Change

The gasket on my transmission has been leaking so I finally removed the pan, fluid, and changed the gasket. The old fluid was a dark red as expected on a vehicle with 155k miles. I cleaned the magnet...

Rubber Squeaking Noise

Re: Help with lift problems

My buddy has that same lift on his Jeep. It does not ride as nice as the stock setup, it is much stiffer. But there's no fear of driving it on bumpy roads. I would say you have an issue somewhere.
