Re: The Towing thread

I just did a very simple test in my my14 diesel overland. Full throttle from stopped gives change up points for the first couple of up shifts (80k zone) at about 3800 rpm in "normal Eco" mode. In...

Re: The MY14 2nd Battery and DC Thread

Not sure how relevant this is, but after a couple of hours driving, maybe three if it was down around 11v, the thumper display will always show in the low to mid 13's. The only time I see higher than...

Re: The MY14 2nd Battery and DC Thread

I have a 75ah Thumper with a 600w inverter on top, connected via the separate isolator from the same supplier as the Thumper. We spent 10 weeks in the Kimberley, running the fridge, lights when...

Re: Bullbars...

I guess my conclusion, albeit only with input from the ARB guys, is that it's largely a terminology issue (tow point vs recovery point), and that there's no reason to believe that what one...

Re: Bullbars...

I had a long discussion on this before having it fitted (ARB Artarmon). The bottom line is that they say the tow hook is as good as what they previously called recovery hooks, but no longer do that,...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just to clarify SJ&L, the cherokee understands a street address input? ( as opposed to "go home", "show map" etc). I ask because the latest excuse my dealer gave me for it not working on the JGC is...

Re: Whistling/whining noise when engine running

That's probably what I will end up doing too - nothing. My concern was not so much the whistle per se, but that it started immediately after a service. Which may have been a coincidence of course....

I have not had a resolution to either of the noises (referred to in post 17). The one there whenever the engine is running has quietened down to the point I cannot see the service guys hearing it...

Re: new lockpick for the 8,4 uconnect, 99% software

Thanks luster.
Just to be clear - it will "fail", as opposed to putting the radio into an unrecoverable state?

I can't pick the left rear wheel well as the main area, but I do suspect the fuel pump area, as it started immediately after I had the fuel filters replaced.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hmmm. A software fix would be easier, and better I think. I'll continue to encourage Customtronix. It'd be worth another hundred bucks or so if they can do it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Lowering really helps - but waiting the 15 seconds, or remembering to push the button and driving the last 50 m real slow is off putting.
