Re: Need advice with possible transmission issue!

Was this shudder happening during steady operation, or just after acceleration? Was the transmission fluid change overdue? Did you see the fluid when it came out?
If it happens after light...

Re: Hydraulic Fan SUPER Loud

It indeed needs a synthetic power steering fluid and no ATF.
Only wonder if the wrong type of fluid would make the fan go to take off mode when selecting AC on. So you didnīt do anything with the AC...

Re: Hydraulic Fan SUPER Loud

No, this fan is electronically controlled by the PCM and has indefinite speeds. The PCM regulates the speed depending on engine coolant temp, transmission temp and AC pressure. While doing the work...

Welcome to the garage.
Do you mean that it is loud all the time? Is it just working on high speed all the time? You didnīt forget to install the coolant temperature sensor connector?(in between the...

Re: Odd sound from engine.

15W40 for a 4.7 is much too thick:eek:. It uses 5W30.
The thicker oil will flow more slowly but increases the oil pressure. Especially during cold starts (cold engine) it will take longer for the...

Re: Odd sound from engine.

You just have to compress the lash adjuster and while holding it in the engine oil, slowly release the adjuster. The spring will let it expand and will take the oil in. If you do this several times,...

Re: Odd sound from engine.

Welcome to the garage.
Why do you want to change the lash adjusters when they seem to be fine?
If the lash adjusters donīt work well, the engine will make a ticking sound, but no loud knock, as you...

Re: Transmission Over Temp Message 4.7 WK

The heat in the engine compartment comes from the cooling airflow which goes trough the radiator and from the engine itself, especially the head and exhaust headers. It is normal to be that hot in...

Re: NV245 Transfer case oil options?

In fact the mopar stuff is made by Mobil as Mobil424. Mopar doesn't make oils, but buy it from oil companies and put their name, P/N and "special" price to it. Amsoil has also a fluid with the same...

Re: Alarm sounds when cranking - Jeep turns off

Yeh, the 4.0 came with the 42RE transmission. You will need about 4 Qts of ATF+4.

Re: Alarm sounds when cranking - Jeep turns off

If the instrument cluster and EVIC are working now, then i wonīt expect the problem to be the data bus. You could measure the bus voltage, just to be sure its not out of line (2.0-2.5V). The memory...

Re: 2000 4.7L JGC A/C Compressor cycling On/Off

You could jumper the low pressure switch to keep the compressor on, but why not putting the refrigerant in and then it will stay on as soon as the low pressure limit is reached?

Re: Alarm sounds when cranking - Jeep turns off

I still would check connector C200 first. Moisture or corrosion can cause a short between the bus connector pin and an other feeder pin running next to it. The bus voltage is at least too high, so...
