Re: Transmission fault codes (?)

The fluid has a reddish-brownish color, good, smooth viscosity--the odor is not burnt as much as "used" in the same way used oil smells when one changes the oil regularly. The MIL went off after...

Transmission fault codes (?)

Check engine light comes on, I pull the P0700 code, then get it scanned at Advance Auto-- they pull 0733 & 0734 (incorrect 3rd & 4th gear ratio incorrect, respectively). They also pull 1784, which I...

Re: 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 L stalling intermittently

I've got a PCM (programmed from a Mopar Authorized seller) on the way. Hoping this is the magic bullet for what has been an aggravating and confounding issue. After reading numerous posts and forums...

Re: 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 L stalling intermittently

This last time, I tried to retrieve a fault code via the "key dance" and it didn't display "done", only the mileage. The mechanic said he checked those three sensors and they were operating at normal...

Re: 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 L stalling intermittently

GC died again on way to work--couldn't restart it. Had it towed back to a local and reputable shop. They've had it since last Wednesday and checked any and all wiring, sensors, done multiple scans,...

Re: 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 L stalling intermittently

It's stalled on me again today on the freeway this time I noticed that both the RPM and the speedometer both fell straight to zero, even though I was cruising down the freeway at about 70 mph....

Re: 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 L stalling intermittently

Checked all of the wiring, only found two spots where the old wrapping was coming off, though the insulation was intact and they were very close to other metal parts. Also checked all of the PCMs,...

Re: 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 L stalling intermittently

Fuel & voltage indicators are working normally. When the engine died/recovered last night, the instrument panel lit up--the low fuel light stayed on and the fuel gauge dropped to empty, overhead...

Re: 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 L stalling intermittently

Replaced the crankshaft position sensor, and it resulted in a more stable Idle. However, it died again yesterday, last night I was driving on the freeway, it started to die and then recovered ...

Re: 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee 4.7 L stalling intermittently

Just for clarity, this is the crankshaft position sensor located behind the starter on the engine block? If so, that makes sense. I replaced it before for similar symptoms. Luckily an expensive...

Additionally, when I did the "key dance" to possibly retrieve an error code, it displayed nothing.

Re: Trouble-shooting TCM error code.

Actually--and embarrassingly--the fluid was quite dark but 'clean'. No debris or particulates in the pan. I'll check the level again and add as necessary

Re: Trouble-shooting TCM error code.

Finally completed the solenoid block replacement and fluid & filter change. It was quite simple, but messy. No error code now, but I notice a 'mild' slipping at around 30 mph--usually in the first 10...

Re: Trouble-shooting TCM error code.
