Remember our Euro spec WJ's were assembled in Austria under Mercedes Benz ownership. Build quality, that's a subjective subject, I do all my own spanner work and personally I cant fault the WJ build...

Thanks for confirming that. I opened up the blend door compartment at the weekend to check the doors were performing correctly, which they were.
I still get occasional fault codes for doors not...

A/C leaks

The performance of my a/c has dropped over the past 4 weeks since I had it recharged.
I've spotted a couple of potential refrigerant gas leaks using a UV light.
They are both on compression...

Good news is on a cold engine I'm getting air vent temperatures down to 4.5oC on start up as the compressor cuts in and out on a 7 seconds in / 15 seconds out cycle.
Off course after a few minutes...

Sorry, reset/recalibration meant the same thing in my mind at the time.
I'm gonna follow your advice and check out those blend doors if the AC blows nice and cold on start up before the engine temp...

As I mentioned I did do a AC recalibration and it did work better for a short while. So perhaps the blend doors aint closing properly ? I fitted new doors a couple if years ago,...

Must say I didnt pack grease in mine. Just poured diff oil in them before install.
The way I see it, the bearings rely on the diff oil for lubrication when driving. I use the expensive synthetic oil...

Door card cracking

You know that spot you rest your elbow on the door card behind the window switches etc ?
The elbow impact point is now splitting the covering vinyl. Sort of 2 inches square area.

Well I dont have a gauge like that to use. Like I say, I set the shoes so I could just slide the rotor back on, so assume there is no drag at that point.
I'll give it a road test on a hill and see...

Sorry, should say they are working (as we speak, the jeep is still on axle stands) but I want to set them up correctly so the don't drag while I'm driving but bite hard when I pull up the park brake...

Over here in the UK the off road BILSTEIN B6 shock is being hailed as the best shock on the market for our WJ's (mines stock height)

New tie rod ends fitted !

Just replaced the 4 tie rod ends on my WJ with moog parts, including a new moog tie rod bar. Put an extra shot of grease on them also on assembly, then off to get the alignment done.

Maybe not possible to say...but what would be the expected life of a set of original shocks ?
My WJ is a 2004 with 75,000 mile's, mostly road use.
What Im thinking is the shocks may still "appear"...
