Re: White Painted Rockers

Daniels offer was fantastic! I just had a hard time contacting him to set up the deal. If you can get him to do it for that price, I recommend going that route.

Yes, mine were/are textured. My...

Re: White Painted Rockers

I used rattle cans. I have paint guns, compressor, and I'm set up spray, but for this project I wanted to try the rattle cans. I don't like cleaning paint guns!

Re: Chrome/Paint - Is this possible?

The current trend is to de-chrome, so there are probably a lot more painted than chrome.

Re: White Painted Rockers

For the rockers (with maybe enough left to do the moldings or bumpers), you'll need:

1 scuff pad for each part
1 bottle prep solvent
1 can adhesion promoter
2 cans primer
2 cans base
2 cans...

Re: Chrome/Paint - Is this possible?

Yes, but it's not bulletproof.

The higher-end shops will chrome the wheel, mask the lip, scuff and paint the center.

Re: White Painted Rockers

I did the whole project with the doors open. I masked the tops so the paint wraps inside about an inch.

No, the front is factory paint. I didn't remove anything.

Re: White Painted Rockers

Yep, the air dam is factory painted.

Thanks. I bought everything from automotivetouchup.com. Here's the rundown in order of use:

Grey scuff
Prep solvent
Masking
Prep Solvent

Re: Chrome/Paint - Is this possible?

You can easily have the wheels chromed, then paint the centers.

Re: White Painted Rockers

I was hoping to have Daniel do them, but that didn't work out. The local shops wouldn't touch it.

I didn't remove them, I masked and painted on the Jeep. If you have access to the rivets and tool,...

White Painted Rockers

I knew this would make a big difference on a white WK, and it's better than expected. Color-matched rockers are mandatory, especially on lighter-colored WK's. :D

Re: changing plugs - coil pack seating

2 of mine tore off. I slid a couple of picks between the boot and plug, then a little shot of wd40 in the void. Work that around a bit and they popped right off.

Re: changing plugs - coil pack seating

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

I also agree, and prefer a plush ride. Closest I've found so far is to ditch the rear anti-sway and install WK Eibach springs. I'm also interested in the Koni's when they're available, but I'm using...

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

The best lift is going to be OME. Get the full MD or HD spring/shock lift from them.

You can self-install. You'll need an alignment after.

Don't know about tire size, but there are other...

Re: The complete (05-10) WK Grand Cherokee suspension thread

Just got rates from Eibach on the WK springs.

F: 463# - 628# progressive
R: 160# - 274# progressive

H&R doesn't disclose rates.

Anyone know factory rates?

4.7 GenII Spark Plugs
