Re: Michelin LTX MS 2 for Winter

I wanted to give an update and some comments. Also thanks to all the replies. I went ahead and replaced the GY Adventures that had served so well in the harsh NE winter with a set of LTX MS2's. Here...

Re: Michelin LTX MS 2 for Winter

All good information, thanks. So i guess the question that remains is will the LTX MS2 be close enough to the GY Adventure in the winter to make changing them out unnecessary work. I already have...

thanks, sounds like you know what you're talking about! Not severe enough here for studs, although I like them and used them for years when I lived further north. If the michelins came close to the...

Re: Michelin LTX MS 2 for Winter

Thanks for the info. I realize that the GY Adventure is not a dedicated winter tire, but it supposedly has a tread compound and other attributes that lean that way. It seems like that's the case...

Michelin LTX MS 2 for Winter

Anyone used these tires for the winter this year. How did they do in the worst winter conditions? Reason I'm asking is because I put a set of GY Adventures on for the winter and they were outstanding...

I'm reading reviews for the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza and they are all over the map. Anyone using them?

I did speak with US wheel. I have done business with them before and was treated well. They suggested the Bridgestone Dueler HL Alenza which looks great. Problem is, I was thinking about doing this...

Re: 18" to 20 " conversion ride quality

Thanks for the info. I think that you're right about the tires themselves being a factor. I put on a set of Goodyear Adventures 265 60 18" in the fall and they are terrific. They are however a lot of...

18" to 20 " conversion ride quality

On my 2014 Grand Cherokee, I'm thinking about taking off the 265 60 18 rims with pretty aggressive tires that I've run this winter. They are great and I was really happy with them given the weather...

Re: Best snow driving techniques and modes

right. although I would prefer a locking diff, the jeep is pretty formidable as is. Perhaps that will be an option with the v6 limited by the time I'm ready for a new ride.

Been out today in every kind of bad weather. deep snow, then sleet, ice, and rain on top of that, then more snow, even unplowed roads. This whole thread has been informative and evolutionary for me....

ESC Correct Use

This was partially covered a previous thread, but if anyone has more information on the use of ESC, especially in snow conditions, how it helps, impedes ect. I'd like to hear it.

I know now, but at the time the vehicle was on the lot and was exactly what I was looking for in all other respects. Things are probably too integrated to add one now.

That's exactly what I was talking about. I had a '76 F-150 like that. High camper suspension. You had to yank the lever on the floor and get out and lock the hubs, but then it was unstoppable, no...

Re: 18" rims to 20" swap

Does anyone know the app weight difference between the 18" and the 20" rims? The 275 55 20's seem to be about 5 lbs heavier than the 265 60 18's, I'm wondering how much I'm adding to unsprung weight.

Re: 18" rims to 20" swap

Thanks,
That makes a lot of sense. By going to the 275/55 you can keep the sidewall height, maintaing the ride quality. On a comparison chart, it looks like the diameter increases 1.5". Any...

I put the standard size Cooper HT plus on and I love them. I want to go to a 20" rim, but they don't...
