Re: Electrical problems

Welcome to the garage. Windows, locks and alarm are most probably a broken wire in the drivers door boot. Since it sometimes works, the wire isolation is most probably still intact, making it even...

Re: 2001 jeep cherokee 4.7

Welcome to the garage.
Does it always idle rough, warm and cold?
You changed the idle air control stepper motor, but did you clean the air canal as well?
Did you use the standard copper core...

Re: Heater core keeps going bad

Electrolysis can be a real nightmare in modern dual metal cooling systems. Once electrolysis has started, it really is difficult to stop it, even after many flushes. Best is prevention, ie changing...

Re: Shuttering, stalling, rough idle.

No compression in some of the cylinders does me think about two possililities: or a rocker arm fell off at the respective cylinders, or the small dowel which orients the timing chain sprocket to the...

Re: Shuttering, stalling, rough idle.

For some reason the PCM is seeing a fault in the injector #2 circuit. The fact that you smell raw fuel could point towards a stuck open injector. You could try some seafoam in the tank, you never...

Re: ***genius jeepers needed***

The fuel pressure is checked?
Strange that there is a check engine light, but no fault code set. Any change when you do a battery disconnect? How about the fuel level and voltage indication on the...

Re: WJ AC/Heat Problems.

Putting the recirc door in cabin position will help cooling down the air, but it will re-use the same air all the time.
46 code means recirc door not responding and 52 recirc door travel range too...

Re: WJ AC/Heat Problems.

54 (left temp door travel too large) and 56 (right temp door travel too large) are quite common faults, which normally means that the blend door hinges are broken. You will need new blend doors for...

Re: How to check fuel pressure

What are the symptoms?
There is a schrader valve on the right front side of the fuel rail (as seen from drivers position), where a mechanical fuel pressure indicator can be installed. But when fuel...

Re: mis-fire codes but does not mis-fire

Did you check the fuel lines if they are not dented or damaged in any way, which could restrict the flow? Other than that, only opening the pump unit could maybe tell more. But the tank must be...

Re: mis-fire codes but does not mis-fire

You need to connect a fuel pressure indicator on the fuel rail and keep it in a viseable place during driving. Maybe stick it to the outside windscreen with tape.
Do you have a scanner to check the...

You didn´t mention the re-calibration in this post, you only said you did a reset. If the problem has to do with the blend doors not closing properly, then you should get cold air after the first...

Re: mis-fire codes but does not mis-fire

This seems to be a fuel supply problem. Did the stealer check the fuel pressure at the moment that the problem is there? I wouldn't believe for now that a new TPS will solve...

Re: Interior Electric Door Panel Issues

The wires in the door boot are just too rigid and after flexing many times (door open/close), they tend to break. This is for the WJ, don´t know how it is for the WK though.

Re: CEL - P0430 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2

I would change the plugs, because this fault will do nothing wrong to new plugs. Worn plugs could in some cases set the P0430 code. The P0430 code is set, when the PCM sees that the downstream sensor...

Re: Transmission over temp issue...is back again

Re: Which drive shaft do I need? Which transfer case do I have?

You clearly have a CV joint at the T case side and not a U joint. On the differential however there is a U-joint.
So you need to see if any of the two shafts has a CV on one side, and U on the...

Re: just filled the tank, fuel gauge only shows half way ?

Eventhough it can be the floater assy itself, it could also be a wiring problem. Some moisture or corrosion in a connector can cause funny readings.

Re: 2002 WJ 45RFE Transmission

Having 5th gear and making the 45RFE a 5-45RFE, is indeed just a matter of programming of the TCM. 5th gear will reduce the rpm during highway driving and increase the mpg. It also reduces the noise....
