Re: WK2 Front Tow Hook Installation (pic heavy)

I probably didn't need to lift it, but it made it easier. I have long arms and like to get a better by raising up the Jeep. I have an '11 so not sure if it's much different.

One more...

Re: WK2 Front Tow Hook Installation (pic heavy)

Finished the Tow Hook Install this past weekend. It took me 1 hr 45 min. I wasted 30 of those minutes trying to get the jeep off of the jackstands. My jack would not pick the jeep up enough to...

Re: My 11' Limited reliability update

'11 with 25,700 and very happy to this point. Had to replace a minor part on the cup holder and have the a part of the suspension tightened (probably due to off road use). Also had one DRL burn out.

Re: New ARB Compressor Install WK2

Yes. I need this. I'm so tired of waiting to go from 18 psi to 37 psi with my crappy cigarette lighter compressor. Takes about 8-9 minutes per tire.

Fish Cyn Wash is another easy and pretty fun 4WD trip out that way. No problem for my '11 Laredo with QD II Just don't take your pregnant wife......as I learned the hard way.

Re: Cargo Liners - Which are dog proof?

Weather Tech liners catch liquids and give dogs some traction in the back. Without one, they can scratch up the cargo area carpet, especially when off roading or driving a curvy road. They are...

Re: WK2 GC - Yokohama Geolandars?

Good choice on the 265 60 R18. I'm running that exact tire on my '11 WK2 and they have performed very well over about 200 off road miles. I live in the southwest, so they haven't seen too much mud,...

The TPMS are great if you do a decent amount of off roading. Especially if you will need to air down/up for soft sand. Where I live in Southern California there have been numerous times when I've...

Re: Replacing 20" rims with 18" on 2011 Overland

I went from the OEM 20's to the OEM 18's with Yokohama Geolander AT/S and as Cold Case mentioned, the diameter was exactly the same so no recal was necessary. No TPMS issues either.

Agreed Sliter'12Overland. It's amazing to me that people can drop $30-$50K on a really nice vehicle and publicly complain about not being able to do burnouts. Jeeps are meant to get great traction....

70th Anniversary Off Road Edition

Re: Need a off-road tire for Overland?

IMHO, you should ditch the 20 inch rims and go with a set of 18's. When you drop to an 18 you give yourself a lot more sidewall. I did so and I'm running 265/60.18s Yokohama Geolander AT/S. You...

How Low Should You Go? (PSI)

I've had a lot of success going with 20 PSI in really fine sand (think dunes). I would imagine you might need some bead lock to go much lower than that. What is everyone's take on this?

If you buy a JGC without Quadra Lift, your ride height will always be the same. Only the Quadra Lift equipped JGC's adjust the ride height

Or do I go with the 275/70/18 Wrangler M/TR w/ Kevlar. There are going to be strictly for off roading, so I'm leaning towards these if they'll fit.

Re: What Accessories are a must IYO

Gotta have some cross rails and a Mother Of All Baskets from Thule. Anytime you see one of those on top of a WK2, you can guarantee that car has had some good times off road.
