Re: WK2 DownUnder

Mine returns to center no problem. I turn, then let go of the wheel and it straightens without input.

I don't find the wheel light, but it may depend on what you are conditioned to. My wife's car...

Re: WK2 DownUnder

My house is at the bottom of a hill. When I leave in the morning I reverse out of my driveway and start off in 1st. There is a little surge as the brake doesn't seem to want to let go, then...

Re: SRT Intake Design Flaw?

I agree the guy in the video was being foolish, the other owner who apparently drove in heavy rain and experienced the same issue is a concern. I can see how rain pelting down on the road could get...

Re: SRT Intake Design Flaw?

Yeah, and that owner was advised by the dealer that you aren't allowed to drive in heavy rain for extended periods. I guess the ducts that feed to the airbox are in the front airdam? It would be like...

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Yeah, that is one thing I have changed about my driving style, trying to keep no more than 5km over the speed limit with all the radars and cameras around and the tolerances being reduced. But some...

Re: Jeep service costs

Picked it up. all good, they reckon the air filter is due for replacement at 20k, I thought it was 40k, but it was cracked anyway, so needed to be replaced $58 (ouch). And they did the 14-104 update...

Re: 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee REFRESH

Yep, that's my understanding. Only the 3.6l trans 845RE comes from the chrysler plant as I understand it.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

I'm hoping all they do is this DPF update. I do worry that a battery disconnect means my trans has to re-learn again and may not learn as well as it did the first time.....

And this is the main...

If you aren't going off road then I wouldn't bother with either of those options. The standard quadratracII system will still handle moderate off road conditions anyway. Sand, dirt, snow.....

The 8HP70 is currently built by ZF in the US for the diesel and hemi. I doubt they will get ZF to move their manufacturing back to europe.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

Yeah, if the engine revs are building then it isn't turbo lag. I find the revs come up fine, the trans just isn't engaging, then when it does, LAUNCH like you say. I've got use to revving it, then...

I remember posting the TSB for the eco button being fixed, only for snuke to point out that the TSB only applied to MY15s. So it must have been broken on some MY15s, but now fixed.

Interestingly I...

I don't buy that, the specification is for vehicles with sales code EXF, which is the 3.0 Diesel. Normally if it applies to certain emissions systems it will also include XAL (for the DEF system).

Re: SRT Intake Design Flaw?

I'd love to see a pic of the intake. It does sound like poor design, and I'd expect more than 2 owners would suffer from the problem eventually.

No doubt the 2.5 is a nippy motor.

The WK2 platform was co-developed with Merc for the new ML. Handling is a different world from the WK1 (or WH as we call it in Oz).

You should try driving one...

So you haven't driven a WK2? Trying to judge the way a car drives, handles and delivers power through these stats is problematic. Top gear 50-70? Are they manually keeping it in 8th? Real life it...
