Re: My simple stealth install...

I put a nutsert into the floor in the hump near where the handbrake cable goes through the floor, gives me a nice good M8 (5/16th) solid bolt earth point for both amps.

Re: My simple stealth install...

How much space realistically did the sub box take up in the tyre well. I've got this on my list to do as well but I want to glass/timber up a half sphere type of box as I am also hoping to still have...

Re: Bad experience with Protofab bumpers

That's a bugger to hear but the rig sounds good. Where are the pics.

I've just come across a similar issue on a smaller scale with the Blue Torch Fab DIY diff covers. Made my own rear as I have...

Re: MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp)

I not quite sure of your meaning here. The 2.7 CRD Grand was built in Austria not Australia and I've never heard any talk of them having the engine added seperately. The petrols Grands were built in...

Re: MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp)

The CRD runs a MB gearbox not the Chrysler box so yes it locks into second gear. If it does not clear from a restart cycle then you have a permanent limp mode triggered and it can only be reset by...

Re: Limited Dash/Door Panel Wood Trim

I've been doing mine in brushed titanium, just a little darker than aluminium. Have a look in the gauge thread, there's a couple of pics.

Re: 2.7 CRD probs

You should need to charge the battery every night to get an efficient start each morning so as stated glow plugs and controller should be checked.

Also get your battery load tested and make sure...

Re: Cut out fender flares

I would love a set that don't need cutting and have hidden fasteners. Whilst I like the Bushwacker ones I would prefer a classier look that doesn't look so bolted on. I don't need massive clearance,...

Re: Auxilary Gauge Mounting Locations

They are Speedhut gauges. These were the ones with warning light so $170 + $10 for the custom logo. The non warning ones are cheaper and some fo the other styles might be too. They have 3 or 4...

Re: Auxilary Gauge Mounting Locations

Sorry guys been away. I glassed and bogged (bondo??) a standard ashtray panel after taking out the ashtray door. Also cut away part of the rear to clear the gauges but left enough to retain strength....

Re: SRT8 rims for offroad use

Timmy D although they are cool wheels and the look is great research your costs very clearly before you go down that route. Bear in mind the cost for the SRT set up over here in Aus will be...

Re: Auxilary Gauge Mounting Locations

This is what I came up with for a pair of gauges. Not a big fan of the pillar mounts either. I'm not worried about a perfect view of them as they have adjustable warnings built in. Now that I've seen...

Re: PowerLoc LSD

Not here in Australia I won't. In the WJ vintage the CRD is not that common even here. For say 300 WJ's in online sales there might be half a dozen CRD's to V8's. That transpires to very few if any...

Whats the difference in diff ratios.

Hey guys what is the difference (other than the ratio itself) in low and high ratio diffs eg 3.55 and 3.73. I see them generally listed as seperate items for parts eg air lockers. Is it that the...

Winch rope connection

Hey guys I see these shackle mount rope ends seem popular over there as an alternative to a hook but not very common here is Aus. I like the idea too and would love to get one but my seaching has...

Re: My complete stereo instal

Yeah when I first hooked up the original amp to my upgraded speakers it didn't work properly either. Only really worked the rear speakers and wasn't outputting to the fronts correctly. Only way I had...

Finally got all...
