Thumbs up Re: 2014 Rear tow hook?

Having used this to pull a larger vehicle back onto the road this winter, I feel pretty good about this D-Ring hitch insert. This was from Quadratec.com, and I use it with my 2014 GC:

Re: New molded running board

I'm just glad I posted those pictures of the steps a while ago instead of now... if you saw what 3 weeks of snow storms and salt could do to a black Jeep... it's not pretty... then again, it's a...

Re: New molded running board

They are certainly wide enough to be a good step, my wife uses them to get in every time. Also, they are nice when you are washing/drying the top of the GC!

I like the way they are mounted, with...

Re: New molded running board

As a follow-up, I decided to buy the Mopar running boards, and they seem to integrate well with the rest of the GC. Here are a couple photos from various angles:

Re: New molded running board

Those look interesting, similar to the ones that I saw from Mopar, but the picture wasn't that clear. It looks like the ones you have would be compatible with the molded Mopar splash guards too.

Re: New molded running board

I've been considering the molded steps also, because my wife always complains when she's getting in that it's too high. (She drives a Prius, we all have our cross to bear.)

Does anyone know if...

Re: Uconnect 8.4 verion 13.48.3 available

With IE, and perhaps some others, you need to at least temporarily disable the "Pop-up Blocker" so that the site can work properly. I am running Windows 8, and IE 10, and was able to download the new...

Re: 2014 JGC - Is the steering wheel heated uniformly?

I have a '14 GC Limited also, and haven't noticed any difference in heating. Maybe it's heated uniformly, but since your hands are mostly between 10&2, the rest of the wheel is radiating heat better,...

Re: What you should always keep in your rig

Someone mentioned the D-Ring adapter earlier, and it's the best way to attach a recovery strap safely to the rear of the vehicle. Here's an example on the back on my '14 GC:

Re: Uhaul vs. Dealer for Hitch Install

I've been going through the same questions about a hitch. I'm having the OEM hitch installed Monday, along with the black Mopar front tow hooks, on my 2014 GC Limited. Looked at other options, but...

Re: Ready for winter 2014 GC Summit on 18" wheel Michelin X-ICE 2

You need one of those upside down Jeep bumper stickers:

Re: 2014 JGC thermomoter

Funny, because I've had the opposite observation... on a cold day, if the GC is in the sun, the temperature is always significantly hotter than the surrounding air. Enough so that there have been...

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

I was noticing the same problem, the floating Grand Cherokee, leaving the road on the NAV screen, (although it's more fun when I'm really off-road :)). It seems to find it's way onto the road again...

Re: Paint overspray from construction... what to do?

Thanks, the "how-to" videos on the Zaino site were informative, (especially for someone who has done polish and wax, but never tried the detailing clay before).

Re: Paint overspray from construction... what to do?

Thanks, that's a good suggestion. I was so bummed about the overspray when I saw it. Was trying to get a good coat of wax on the Jeep before anything corrupted it, but that didn't work out. After...

Question Paint overspray from construction... what to do?

I'm about 2 weeks into my new 2014 GC Limited. Nice day today, so I decided to get a good coat of wax on my new baby before the winter starts to attack my crystal black Jeep. After the wash, I notice...

Re: UConnect 13.38.52

Updated from Uconnect 13.33.7 (that's what came from the factory on my 2014 GC Limited) to the 13.38.52 version today during lunch break. Remarkably straightforward download from the Uconnect...

Re: What you should always keep in your rig

The one in there now is a couple years old, I had it in my GMC Envoy before I bought the Jeep. It's a First Alert Garage & Home model FE10G, 10-B:C rating. It's a basic 5lb dry chemical unit. I'd...

Re: What you should always keep in your rig

A contractor bag is just a big heavy duty trash bag. They are usually 3 or 4 mils thick, and hold about 7 bushels, so you can stuff them full of things and they don't break. They were called...

Some great ideas on these pages. In the spare tire area, I have built a kit to deal with things I expect to encounter. There are some great preparedness ideas at EQUIPPED TO SURVIVE - Outdoors Gear,...

Re: What you should always keep in your rig

Another option for a fire extinguisher is under a rear passenger seat. In my 2014 GC Limited I have a 10BC extinguisher under the driver side back seat. It can slide in from the door, I have a...

Re: 2014 WK2 - Run Flat Tires/No Full Sized Spare

I was reading some of the information in the User Guide for my 2014 GC Limited, and came across a section about the Run Flat tires on the vehicle. (There is also a spare, although it's not full...
