Re: Jeep reliability dead last in Consumer Reports

One data point: 2014 3.6 LTD built June '13. 30,000 miles, probably 20,000 of them towing a 3000# trailer. Zero problems. I've been back for the software updates and a couple of recalls but I think...

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

Thanks. Maybe I'll crawl under there and see if I can jam something into it.

Looks like the shock mount bolts would punch it between the mount and body.

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

17-002-14 is the TSB #.

The bushings and the stamped steel mounts were changed.

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

Got the new shock mounts installed today per the TSB. The noise I hear, going over small bumps sounds like a finger tapping on a drum head, is still there.

I went right back and talked to tech,...

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

Flippo, glad to hear it worked.

This fix couldn't have taken jeep engineering more than a couple of days to figure out once management decided it was worth assigning someone to figure it out.

Re: Rearend or rear suspension clunk/creak

2014 with tow pkg, 13 months old, 25,000 miles. Took it in yesterday as the 'clunk' became noticeable a few months ago and the new TSB gives them a fix.

They ordered the parts kit, said 1900 are...

Re: 2014 GC gas mileage 3.6L

I've got 23000 miles on my V6 4x4. EVIC reads from 0 to 1.2 mpg optimistic,, that said I got (EVIC) 27.4 mpg on a 300 mile trip on flat roads at 60ish mph.

Best part is I get 16-17 mpg towing a...

Re: Just ordered a LTD. Now I'm worried...

I realize you took the plunge but just to add one more factoid to set your mind at ease: I have June 13 build LTD 4x4 Pentastar. 23000 miles, probably 16000 towing a 2850# camper. Zero problems....

Re: Hitch height

Load leveling suspension doesn't have an air compressor to raise the rear end like you would think. The rear shocks pump themselves up (I think) while you drive.

Re: Towing with my 2014 V6 : wow!

Trip to AL was 964 miles, nearly all freeway. CC set on 65 the whole way. Not much wind. Three refuel stops. Got 17.3 mpg per EVIC, 15.9 mpg hand calculated.

Re: Towing with my 2014 V6 : wow!

I have a 2014 V6 Limited. Towed our 2850# fiberglass camping trailer 500 miles on mostly two lane (50 mph speed limit roads), mostly with the cruise control set on 57 mph. Got 17.6 (EVIC) mpg over...

Re: 2014 GC OWNER'S Review

Just rolled over 1900 miles on my 14 Limited V6. Gave it an "A" in the poll. It's certainly the smoothest, most luxurious vehicle I've ever had. Mileage is above my expectation at 24 (EVIC) for...

Problem with CR is they are a self selected group, not representative of the population as a whole.

I take their info with a little scepticism.
